They're the same age so when Affleck leaves, it won't be that far off.

I support this, but he is not the studio's smart choice. Which means it will never happen. 90% chance you're right. You'd think they'd want to appease fanboys but whatever.

Didn't he once say he would make a great Bruce Wayne but a bad Batman? Whatever, again with lame, uncreative type casting. We have seen this guy in dozens of other iconic roles, why not give Batman to a talented fresh or semi-fresh face who provides a new perspective?
Because its risky and so to pander to some foul-mouthed online loudmouths thinking they are the perfect casting agents.
Real casting agents do your job!

Studios don't care about fanboys because they know the fanboys will show up no matter what. Even if they know they will hate the movie before it comes out they will still go to see it. The studios want to get the non-fanboys into the theater.

Yeah he's solid but would that no t be the obvious, fan service choice? Can't they do better.

I think he could be a good Batman.

If they decide to recast, I could be alright with Eomer/Bones as Batman. He's a much better actor than a lot of people give him credit for, he's a fanboy- which doesn't hurt, and he's handsome enough to be Bruce Wayne/active enough to be Batman. I still kind of hope they will cast Sam Witwer, but I know that's as likely as getting Trent Ford to be the new 'young Indy Jones', so I'm not getting my hopes up or holding my breath.
