I haven't seen the movie 'Up' in years around the time it came out but I had a thought when the movie made and people were gushing on about it, and i'm finally remembering to actually ask the question.
So whenever you hear anyone talking about 'Up' they always talk about the start and not so much about the rest of the Movie so I'm just wondering what people would think if the opening 10 minutes were cut and a couple of very minor changes were made
I really do think the opening part is really well done but thought the rest of the movie was a bit weak which is what me thinking about it.
Do you think people would like it the same?

I think they'd still probably find it a fun family adventure. But that first ten minutes really does the emotional heavy lifting that adds extra depth to it. Otherwise, Carl does seem like just another crotchety old man for no reason.

I can't speak for people, but the opening scene was great but it wasn;t even my favorite since it wasn;t the story. It was the prokogue.
We got to know Ellie more later in the movie.

The dog in Up is like crying baby Mario in SMW2 Yoshi's Island.

Well many say it's the best part of the entire film. Without that scene, the movie wouldn't have as much of an emotional impact on the viewers throughout. My answer is maybe not.

I guess I don;t understand the notion of why someone would keep watching a movie if the only good part is the first few minutes.

I don't recall liking it much as it is.
