Madeleine(50) Lovely story. Meant to be true, hope it is Hell Is a City(60) Another one of the many magnificent b&w films made in the north of England around this time. Salt(10) Rewatch and better than I remember it. Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust(00) Was in no mood for this but it was actually good.

I finished the Magus about 30 minutes ago. Very interesting film and I'm not sure why it has such a bad wrap. Quinn and Caine were very convincing and Bergen was completely beautiful. I've never read the book so that might be where the disconnect is for a lot of folks. I like the Greek island setting and the various deceptions/masks. I thought it was almost Lynch like in its presentation (before Lynch was making film)... I agree with you. I remember seeing this movie in 1968 with a bunch of friends--we came back to our singles apartment and talked about it for quite a while. One of the first times, I ever remember discussing a movie right after watching it.
