You can choose as many favourites as you like!
Mine are 1950, 1952, 1954, 1957, 1959, 1963, 1964, 1969, 1977, 1979, 1983, 1985, 1989, 1994, 1997, 1999.
Which are your favourites?
Note: You don't have to have lived in a year to vote for it....

1967, 1976, 1984, 1989, 1992, and 1999. Also, it's great to see 1984 leading the poll, I was born that year.

now i wanna know what was so great about 1984. other than orwell… Might be the music. It had a lot of good music. Also, some truly lovely home computers were available in 1984.

My absolute cream of the crop year OVERALL between 1950-1999 is... 1995. I can confidently say this because of the overall quality of movies this year and it goes the deepest before the quality falls below a certain standard... 1.Braveheart - 10/10 2.Die Hard 3 - 8/10 3.Assassins - 7.5-8/10 -.Desperado -.Casino 6.Friday - 7/10 7.Leaving Las Vegas - 6-6.5/10 -.Bad Boys -.Four Rooms in fact, it's easier for me to pick the years I don't like vs the ones I do like. my LEAST favorite years of those listed... 1950-1959 1967 1976-1978 1980-1982 basically those are the only years that failed to give me at least one movie amongst My Favorite Movies. Matthew the Swordsman Your poll would have been more meaningful if you limited it to say Top 5 years overall (maybe Top 10 MAX, but Top 5 sounds better) out of those listed. because as it is, it's mostly pointless because people can pretty much spam the votes if they want to where as if it was limited to say only five choices then it would filter out the BS and show what people truly like around here. p.s. I did vote for 1995 though. but had you limited the poll to only five choices, then I would have voted for (in terms of overall year quality)... 1994/1995/1996/1997/1999 (in no order). in general... the 1990's to date cover the vast majority of My Favorite Movies with the 2000's decade being my all around favorite for movies as a whole.

JamesIt's watchable but forgettable. but in general I am not that big on animated movies as I tend to see animated stuff as being mainly for kids. basically they just don't connect with me like movies with real people do. come to think of it I pretty much stopped watching cartoons (and the like) probably around my early teen years. 5/10 (Thumbs Down) p.s. I have not seen many animated movies in general but I have seen Toy Story and Toy Story 3 etc. I first seen Toy Story (1995) back around the time it was new on video (VHS tape from a rental) at my cousins house which likely would have been sometime in 1996 since the theater date says Nov 1995. at the time I remember it being better than I expected it to be but at the end of the day it's not worth re-watching, especially more in semi-recent times, like once I started to see plenty of movies which pretty much started for me about the year 2003+. SIDE NOTE: the only animated thing I have seen of any real worth... Death Note (2006-2007) which is #26 in IMDb's Top 250 TV shows. I have seen that a total of three times in it's entirety (Japanese language with English subs) but it's gotten worse for me on each re-watch... 9/10 to a 7.5-8/10 to a 6.5-7/10, pretty much. I first viewed it back around the time it was airing as some random person online told me about it so I started watching and caught up fairly quickly and was waiting for the next episodes to air as it progressed and then my 2nd viewing was Feb 10th-19th 2012 and my recent viewing was June 27th 2016 to Aug 16th 2016.

Oh I see. It's actually my favourite film of all time and I was wondering why you didn't give it a higher rating/ranking. I may be mostly worn out on animated movies, but I still watch them, just not as frequently as I used to. But people should really take more notice of them, as some of them can be just as good, if not conceptually even better than the greatest live-action movies of all time.

My vote choices from this fine extensive list were the first 40 years / 4 decades of these and all mostly for the same exact reasons here too . For me from these years it was the styles and certain top values of - clothes , automobiles , music , TV Shows , movies , books , furniture , homes / buildings , also qualities of certain products - foods , household , family entertainment , & personal as well . These were the years / decades I chose . - All 10 years of 1950 to 1959 - All 10 years of 1960 to 1969 - All 10 years of 1970 to 1979 - All 10 years of 1980 to 1989 Thanks so much Matthew the Swordsman for your subject post .

JamesI think they already got more than enough recognition, at least on IMDb. if it were up to me... I would remove ALL animated movies from IMDb's Top 250 as I see animated movies in a different category than regular movies with actual people in them. even on the TV side of things... I would definitely remove 'documentaries' (and the like) from there as they are not really legitimate TV shows like how stuff like Breaking Bad/The Sopranos etc are. I can't be the only person who feels that way about animated movies in that they simply can't touch the higher quality movies with actual people in them.
