Wondering if anyone has seen all of these. Here's my ranking with added ratings for each.
Shrek - 10/10 Shrek 2 - 8/10 Puss in Boots - 8/10 Shrek Forever After - 7/10 Shrek the Third - 7/10
As you can tell, I like all the films. The first movie is one of my favourite animated films (and films generally) of all time, and 2 and the Puss spin-off were really good too. Despite the 3rd and 4th films having a bad rep for being the weak link in the series by many, I still enjoy them as they didn't need to take themselves too seriously and at least they still had the Shrek charm the earlier movies were best known for.
Anybody else?

Shrek (10/10) Shrek 2 (7/10) Shrek the 3rd (4/10) Shrek: The Final Chapter (5/10) Glad I'm not the only one to think that the original is perfect. Haven't seen PIB or you just didn't consider it for the list?

I haven’t seen Puss in Boots, but I have seen the others. For better or worse, I didn’t really like any of them too much—sorry!—but the second was, for me, the pick of a bad lot. The fourth, with its parody of It’s a Wonderful Life, was also decent. I strongly dislike the crudity of the first; the second went more for parody than crudity, which is why I think I liked it the best. I found the third remarkably forgettable—and dull.
1. Shrek 2
2. Shrek Forever After
3. Shrek
4. Shrek the Third

Puss in Boots should have remained a supporting character. He's not that interesting to me. It's technically a prequel as well, so you can choose whether or not to see it. I think the main reason it was made in the first place was because I guess people/fans really liked Puss and wanted more of him. Granted, I'm not one that thinks he's as good as say Donkey for their own movie, but I thought it was a great take on the character and how fresh it was to have another Shrek movie that isn't really a Shrek movie.

No hard feelings. I love the original for having such raw humour that can appeal towards older audiences, that way it isn't just another one of those "Kids Only" flicks, unlike most animated films today.

Shrek Shrek 2 Shrek the Third Shrek Forever After
Shrek 1 and 2 are great, the third is okay, and the fourth is pretty bad. Never saw Puss and Boots.

Yeah, since the third one was meh, it scared me off the series. ...Should I see the fourth one? It's pretty good. I like the themes of being regretful of what you have after being rather scornful of such. On the flip side, it's just a pretty generic copy of It's a Wonderful Life and some humour can fall flat. But yeah, I wouldn't skip off after the third one. It's a mild step up.

Yeah, since the third one was meh, it scared me off the series. ...Should I see the fourth one? It was the same for me, but I finally watched the fourth one last year and ended up enjoying it.

Pretty much enjoyed them all and in the order that they appeared. For me, the best scene in #1 was accompanied by this :
Looked forward to Puss in Boots and was disappointed enough to not buy a copy.
