It's a small world huh. usually I check out all geek forums, sometimes am active on them. Imdb 2.0 is drying up for me, so I visited the superhero hype forums, comicvine and gamefaqs. Have not done that in a while. I ran into 2 users from here. very small world. ThatGuy and Charzhino. Their comments on hype forums seems almost very consistent. Charzhino is very optimistic about dark phoenix , (something I am not. I Am a real fan of xmen but I do take into account artistic merit in films. Kinberg has shown none of that) but thatguy has gone full marveltard. I guess he could not do that here because there are many truth speakers that shut him down with ease and expose his lies even easier. Thatguy goes by the name of psylockolussus forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=536101&page=33Charzhino goes by the name of Charzhin0 forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=539885They reply directly to each other like they do here. LMAO. what a small world. Now you need to see all the laughable bs shit thatguy post on superherohype forums. superficially viciously attacking new mutants and dark phoenix with all the mcu garbage attack tactics that usually reflects mcu itself. Calling new mutants trailer mediocre and saying the film is a failure and does not look like the comics...what? LOL.
It sort of makes sense now, their past hatred of new mutants is finally revealed. Many MCU fantards could not handle the film been a psychological serious horror drama or the hard truth that MCU can never make a film like new mutants. so, they attack the movie. they trash any comic movie that is not cgi comedy garbage like mcu movies. LOL. This is the reason we X-Men fans, Non-Disney marvel fans and DC fans are different. We have good reason to hate MCU comic movies. They ruined the genre and made it loose a lot of credibility. MCU fans hate comic book movies that does not fall under the CGI Disney comedy category like their mcu movies. It is not equal at all or the two sides of the same good. Let's all pray Spielberg is right and the genre dies out. Us real xmen-marvel fans and mcu-disney fans will not have to be stuck together should the Disney deal go through. we need to keep both fandoms separate. same goes for films. What a small world, I did not run into formershamd or whatever his name is. How strange. The good thing trump can do for once is to block this Fox/Disney deal.

New Mutants will bomb, because it's not being true to its nature. Fox keeps trying to force its Marvel properties to be stuff they inherently aren't.
This whole "it's not a comic movie, it's a hardcore drama!" attitude is silly and childish anyways. People like that have no business doing CBMs in the first place, they're ashamed of the genre and shouldn't be working in it. Look at guys like James Gunn and Ryan Coogler, they don't talk nonsense like "We're transcending the genre!", they embrace the genre and work hard to elevate the genre in the publics' eye in ways FoX-Men and DCEU are too incompetent to do.
The only reason you hate the MCU is because it dares to not be grounded and not take the lazy way out the way Fox and WB have been doing for years. They restored the genre after guys like Nolan and Singer nearly destroyed it.
And we've run into each other on TrekBBS where you're Dales. You ran away from me there.
And CGI is necessary to bring the source material to life, your aversion to it is childish.

I think some fans in general conflate style and tone with storytelling far too much so now it forces people to pick a side in the wrong fight. That really irritates me. Neither the XMEN movies or the DC films as a whole wound up becoming outpaced by the MCU simply because they took themselves seriously or chose a different style like a drama or a horror, etc. The bad ones were hampered by bad storytelling decisions and studio interference. Same as with any other film franchise. I welcome variety to the superhero genre, that's what keeps it from getting stale. Whether it's broad comedy, action, horror, drama, whatever. Make it good. Remember that two year dead zone in the first superhero movie boom between 2006 and 2007 when most films that were released sucked or were mediocre? No matter what their tone or stylistic choices were. Superman Returns, XMEN: The Last Stand, Ghost Rider, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Spider Man 3, remember that? Then in 2008, something amazing happened. We got Iron Man and The Dark Knight which were opposite ends of the spectrum and did just fine. People may have their preferences between the two but both were just great well made movies. I'll throw in Hellboy: The Golden Army as a third example that is content to be in the middle and it was part fantasy/horror on top of that! Now let me make this topical, since we're on the XMEN board, I think New Mutants has a chance to be good. Venom, I don't expect it to be good since it's indistinguishable from any other standard Hollywood blockbuster if not for that logo at the end. It's not that superhero movies shouldn't take themselves seriously or not have fun, they just shouldn't suck at it.

Wuaah wuaah, the movie is not like the comic What's the point of adapting if you're just tossing everything out? Well, it will. Not my fault we're still infested with pretentious snobs who don't like comics to begin with.

1. I don't cre if the movie bomb, or not 2. By "pretentious snobs" you mean people who have a life with jobs, friends, wife and kids, and real hobbies, who doesn't waste their time watching some colorful pics? You must really be jealous, that your lif is so poor.

1. I don't cre if the movie bomb, or not Bombs bring down the genre as a whole. Hate comics and enjoy CBMs that go out of their way to mess up the source material in a wrongheaded attempt to be "artistic".

Whats wrong with the people who don't read comics, but enjoy the movies. These guys make the movies to a success.

Nothing is wrong with those people. But in formersamhmds little fantasy world, only people who read comics have the right, to watch cbms.

This whole "it's not a comic movie, it's a hardcore drama!" attitude is silly and childish anyways. No its actually the opposite of childish and silly. Comic book mediums like XMEN thrive on grounded human drama as a foundation. Silly and childish is what James Gunn did to guardians of the galaxy and Tiki Waitia to Thor. Gladiator would be making jokes in the MCU. Fixed.

Comic book mediums like XMEN thrive on Appealing to people who don't like comics. Just like Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr Who.... Like he sometimes does in the comics. After all, guy was based on Superman and classic Superman had a sense of whimsy. Fixed. [/quote] Singer and Nolan's way is what led to Fant4stic. The MCU is what really led to actual comic booky stuff becoming mainstream.

When we say DC movies. we talk about the TDK trilogy, tim burton's batman, original Reeves superman movies and some underrated films or over hated films- Superman Returns, man of steel, batman vs superman extended version and watchmen. New Mutants was the only film that showed any real artistic art of all the films in 2018. No surprise MCU fans hate it. MCU does not have to take themselves seriously, that is not my problem just keep xmen away from that.

Aren't you even a little bit bored making these kinds of threads crapping on the content, the artists, and the fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and making the X-Men films out to be some kinds of high artistic achievements like The Godfather, Citizen Kane, or Casablanca or Metropolis? You just keep making yourself look sillier each and every time you post this kind of crap. Seriously, you're the reason why fandoms cannot get along.

Agreed I love X Men, MCU, Nolan and even the DCEU despite their movies being disappointing at first. I don't understand why he craps on the people who made the MCU and like the MCU. Also I wonder how he feels about Nolan saying that Black Panther might get nominated for Best Picture?
