"Disappointing" spring training? Huh? Was there someone - ONE person in the world who actually thought he was going to kill it? Or even do sort of good? More great "reporting" by the 13 year olds at yahoo: Tebow demoted after "disappointing" spring training

Was there someone - ONE person in the world who actually thought he was going to kill it? Or even do sort of good? Mets GM Sandy Alderson thinks Tim Tebow will play in major leagues
Alderson said the Heisman Trophy winner and former NFL quarterback has what it takes to make it to the majors. Gabrielle McMillen Omnisport @gabbymcmillen Published on Feb. 18, 2018 Tim Tebow continues to draw praise from Sandy Alderson The Heisman Trophy winner and former NFL quarterback has reported for his first MLB spring training, and the Mets general manager made a bold prediction about Tebow. "I think he will play in the Major Leagues," Alderson told reporters Sunday. However, Tebow has a ways to go before he makes it to the majors. The 30-year-old player finished last season with a .226 batting average, eight home runs and 52 RBI between Single-A Columbia and Port St. Lucie. But this season Tebow is rumored to be starting at Double-A Binghamton and he could be promoted to the majors in the fall, depending on how he does. "We're very pleased with his progress so far," Alderson said. "He's been super for us the first year-plus. He's made progress on the field. He's dedicated himself to improving."

.056, 11 K's in 18 AB's. Yeah, I'd call that "disappointing". Any other 30 year old rookie would be released. But Tebow is the only 30 year old rookie who sells jerseys.

Caught a bit of a game a few weeks ago where he struck out on 3 pitches against Max Scherzer. Granted, Scherzer is awesome and makes a lot of guys look like chumps but it was like they were playing two different sports altogether. It would take an actual miracle for Tebow to make solid contact against a guy like Max. If only Tebow had god on his side...

The ONLY way Tebow gets to the Majors is when Alderson puts him there in September after he hits .210 in single A ball for the season simply to sell T-shirts. What a joke.

If Tebow had just connected, even fouled off against him I would have been semi-impressed. In reality, I bet his underwear were soiled after that at bat.

I’d be impressed if he made contact against the last guy in any MLB team’s bullpen, let alone someone like Scherzer or Kershaw.

Tebow will never play in MLB, anyone who thought he would is an idiot so blinded by their worship of Tebow that they couldn’t see the truth.

Is it because he's a churchy? Why does he have a following? He would only get to the Majors if Alderson puts him there and that would be a shame. A total travesty and mockery of the game. If it happened, the commissioner should block it or something.

If it happened, the commissioner should block it or something. The churchiness is obviously the main part, but he was a tremendous player in college, and for all of his horrible play in the NFL, he did end up winning games and having great moments. The churchy folk don't focus on the fact that he has 3 completions in a game if the result is a win in the last second. There's an appeal for them, because to actually win games when you suck so god damn badly must mean that it's divine intervention.

Yeah the reason Tebow has such a cult following is that he’s an evangelical religious nut. I mean, he was an awesome college player and very exciting to watch, and while he could never be a franchise QB in the NFL he had moments of good play, but he could never make the MLB, especially not at the age he is now.

You're down in Florida, so maybe you have more exposure to it, but while he's obviously a very religious person, I never really saw him as the evangelical type. I mean, I've never really heard him trying to indoctrinate others, or preaching his beliefs unto others. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I'm just saying I've never really seen it. To me, it's more his followers that see him as a religious person and ascribe this sort of god-like status unto him that leads to the notion that he's preachy. I could be totally off on this.

Yeah he is an evangelical type. He does like to push his beliefs on to others, he’s been in with a bunch of missionary groups who’s entire purpose is to preach their beliefs to others and he’s been in anti abortion ads. He’s also been involved with a Jacksonville mega church that is very far right-evangelical borderline cult, I’m not sure if him and his family are still involved with them but I remember hearing about how they were and how the church was run by a couple of lunatic evangelicals. So yeah Tebow is definitely the type that loves to push his beliefs on others, it’s why he yaps about Jesus every 2 sentences, he’s from a family of evangelical conservatives and he’s followed in their footsteps.

Didn't he get some crap in the locker room in the NFL once for the churchy stuff?
