Just as soon as you explain why you think critics are some kind of hive-mind who universally agreed to “inflate” the score for WW for “SJW” reasons. Dude, why don't you try dealing with what I actually write for a change....you know...instead of making extra shit up?! Where did I say that all critics "agreed" to inflate WW's ratings? ![](https://s26.postimg.org/gf93ycxax/giveup.gif) Critics watched WW and were probably delighted when they realized they wouldn't have to shit all over yet another DCU movie (bump). It's a blockbuster superhero movie led by a woman. Given the present climate, that's culturally significant (bump). Maybe they are predisposed to wanting to see a movie like this do well (bump). So you’re suggesting that they universally decided to go easy on the film for their own personal agendas? Did I get that right? Also, your assessment that critics have some PC agenda when it comes to reviewing movies, but not towards the “bad” movies doesn’t work. If critics did have a political agenda, why would they care if the movie is good or bad? Their readers wouldn’t take them seriously either way if they think they have an agenda in mind.

Maybe BP's were, but then that would also mean Dark Knights' were too along with WW. AWIT was just bad enough it couldn't even rely on inflated scores. First off, how would that suggest that TDK had inflated scores? You need to stop using Heath Ledger’s death as a scapegoat. It’s disgusting. That has nothing to do with critics being afraid of being accused of racism or sexism. Second, your “point” about AWIT makes no sense. I won't stop, because it's the truth. In this case it was because a hyped up Actor died young and they didn't want to appear disrespectful. The point about AWIT is that if something is just bad enough, no amount of boosting can save it.

A significant number did overrate the movie though. ![](https://s26.postimg.org/m8f14k0ih/yes.gif) If a movie clearly sucks ass then any critic giving it a largely positive rating stands out from the crowd......not in a good way. You have zero evidence to suggest that it is in anyway “the truth”. Just stop. You’re not doing anyone any favors by claiming that people only liked a movie because an actor died. The only one who’s appearing disrespectful is you. Heath Ledger has been dead for 10 years. If people only went easy on the movie out of pity, it would not still be remembered as a great film today. Furthermore, why did you even bring up TDK in the first place? It isn’t even relevant to the discussion.

It comes across as a lame excuse.

Now it has nostalgia on its side and fanatical Nolanites who won't let it be anything but worshiped. Otherwise we'd have people who'd openly admit the whole "Die a Hero, or become a villain" philosophy is full of holes instead of acting like its an absolute. It's gotta be the Ur-Example of artificial boosters for a CBM. That, and DC fans won't stop parading it around like it's the end-all of Cinema.

This is ridiculous. Was there nostalgia for the movie back in 2010 when Heath Ledger’s death had already been old news? Also, who cares what DC-Fan thinks? TDK has nothing to do with anything.

Back in 2010 his death still had effect. I'm talking all the DC fans who go on and on about how the DCEU will eventually put out movies that will destroy every MCU movie past present and future and how people will finally "wake up" and say stuff about how the MCU is completely worthless and how it's destroying Cinema. Instead of a sane attitude, like "It's nice that the DCEU has some good movies now". They have to keep psychotically ranting on about how the MCU is without one redeeming quality and how the DCEU should be raking in Oscars and stuff. That level of fanaticism and utter intolerance is why I'm fine saying stuff like TDK being well received due to Ledger dying. It's payback that's more than deserved.

Posters here feel the same way he does. Poelzig, summers8, charzino off the top of my head. Yeah, payback. Payback for 10 years of insults over a movie series whose only crime is that it existed. No matter WHAT the MCU does they still rip into it and think it's all a waste. Well, no more holding back and acting like TDK is some perfect film without flaws. It has them and I'm not afraid to point them all out, while others are all "If you say one bad thing about TDK you're disrespecting Heath Ledger!" I'm just beyond that excuse now. TDK isn't perfect, it is nowhere NEAR perfect and I'm gonna point out its flaws no matter how "disrespectful" it is. Others hide behind their Ledger shield, but I'm gonna say what I'm gonna say. TDK fans don't like that? Tough, they threw the first punch here.

Nobody has ever said that someone pointing out a flaw with the The Dark Knight is being disrespectful to Heath Ledger. I don't know why you always make this stuff up.

You don't know what it was like on the old IMDB forums back then. Saying ONE bad thing about TDK got you swarmed. The toxicity of the fandom of that film was staggering. Driving TDK fans crazy by pointing out their film isn't flawless is something they've had coming for years.

I never saw anyone criticise the movie for say the Batman voice and then people rushed at the guy saying he was being disrespectful of Heath Ledger. Simply because it doesn't even make sense. Nobody said the movie was flawless otherwise that wouldn't be a meme nor parodied in many things. It just has less flaws than any other Superhero movie but it was never flawless.

The only thing disrespectful is continuously insisting that people only like a movie because an actor died. It’s insulting and exploitative to do that.

Of course it's Dead because it was bullshit since the beginning. Same with the so called SJW argument with Black Panther. People got butthurt because the comic book movies with a female lead and a POC lead got good reviews and are box office hits. They obviously wanted the film's to be reviewed negatively and be box office bombs, so when neither are those happened they jumped on the anti-SJW and anti-feminist bandwagon. Exactly. For all the sexist turds on the 'Wonder Woman' IMDB Boards who were claiming 'Wonder Woman' was going to flop harder than 'Ghostbusters (2016)' and be the death of the DCEU 'cause nobody wanted any female superhero movies - oohh and all the threads about "What are feminists going to do when Wonder Woman flops?" and "Who are feminists going to blame?" I am not surprised so many of them were pissed off 'Wonder Woman' was successful 'cause it made them look like a bunch of sexist dickheads and if the IMDB Boards had still been opened after 'Wonder Woman' came out I would brought all their threads back up just to rub it in. ![](https://s21.postimg.org/9u6spps5j/image.gif)

For whatever reason there's people who are threatened when a woman or POC are in starring roles or take up a large portion of the cast. Especially if it's a comic book Movie. A genre that is usually made up of White men.

First off, how would that suggest that TDK had inflated scores? You need to stop using Heath Ledger’s death as a scapegoat. It’s disgusting. There seems to be a lot of pearl clutching over this Heath Ledger thing. In all likelihood, his death prior to the films release did contribute to better reviews and a higher box office than the film would have received if he were still alive. It’s very easy to determine ... just read the reviews and see if you can find any that don’t lament Ledgers passing and/or mention that his portrayal of the Joker would be his last performance. Clearly, his untimely death was on everyone’s mind and to think it had no impact on the film’s reception defies any semblance of common sense. That said, TDK is clearly one of the best superhero movies out there, if not the best. ... “death boosters” or not. Going from Chris Nolan’s vision of Batman to the DCEU version is similar to the fall from grace Batman experienced when Joel Schumacher lobotomized Tim Burton’s vision and turned it into a bad joke. Even when DC manages to briefly get something right, they can’t but not muck it up in the end.

The voice thing started in Batman Begins, so it had already been going on before Ledger's presence in the movies. You never see anyone criticizing the stuff that DID come from the movie like Dent's "Heroes and villains" philosophy or Alfred's story about the bandit in Africa. Both of which are FULL of holes. The stuff parodied is from Begins and TDKR, never TDK.
