Rebels flee to a white planet. Bad guys find them and come after them in AT-ATs. Ships that are not X-wings coming out to fight the AT-ATs. Again, going at them straight on. You would think that they would have learned by now to find a way to fly BEHIND them. Fucking morons. Rebel soldiers in trenches, that the previous ones just happened to have built there. Main bad guy killed by second in command bad guy. Bad guys only flying around in a big ass fleet. Shot of a kid with the force looking out at the stars in the end. (Watch. The slave labor kids will be freed in the next one.) A powerful Jedi, this time Luke, dies and disappears. A wounded her ends up lying down on the Falcon. Huge beasts that get ridden around on. A rebel hero gets to watch the rebel fleet getting destroyed in the throne room.
Any others?

I would argue that it's a deconstructed version of Empire & poissibly Jedi although Force Awakens resembles Jedi more.

I wouldn't call it a deconstruction, but it does flip the script on tropes from Empire and Jedi. -Yoda trains Luke. Luke doesn't train Rey. -Lando betrays Han and Leia but is really a good guy and redeems himself. Benicio del Toro betrays Finn and Rose but is just a s**thead and bails. -Vader kills the Emperor in a final act of redemption. Kylo kills Snoke for power. Etc.

Also, Luke like Yoda is hiding out by himself on a distant and desolate planet and when one who can tap into the force shows up and wants his guidance, he is also reluctant but eventually starts her training. Vader turns to the dark side from Obi Wan. Kylo turns to the dark side from Luke. Luke's X Wing is again below water. Vader at the end of ESB gets in touch with Luke. Here Kylo gets in touch with Ren.

I think you're clutching at straws here with some of the stuff you listed.

It's so much like ESB & ROTJ that I'm baffled by people claiming the film was too different, it was too similar I wanted something much more different.

I was more satisfied after seeing TLJ the first time than I was when I saw ROTJ the first time

It is very similar in plot beats and themes, hell the Throne Room scene is a rehash of Jedi beginning with the awkward elevator dialogue.
But TLJ is in no way as much a rehash as Force Awakens was, the latter was a plot-beat- for plot-beat greatest hits cover album: Stormtroopers attack and kill civilains, enter masked Skywalker Jedi-killer traitor, he questions leader and kills him, young rebels hides plan in droid, droid out into desert to find young hero, young rebel is captured and tortured and so on...

Good post, except you forgot to add that The Last Jedi actually sucked overall despite some good visual effects

I haven't seen TLJ but..... why do people dislike it so much? Why don't you watch the damn thing and find out yourself? Movie's been out seemingly forever---We've talked about it here ad infinitum
