good songs? Of course they did play their own instruments, which makes their music better than any music made today. IMO. They aint no sissy band, i'll give 'em that.

Yeah because playing your own instruments is a thing of the past... No one does it today... Yup...

They're my FAVORITE hard-rock/heavy-metal band.

Very good band. They weren't exactly consistent, but they basically had two excellent periods as both a hard rock band, and then as an arena rock powerhouse. In Trance, Lovedrive, and Blackout are their essential albums.

Scorpions, do you like this band? You think they had any good songs? @joetorrence, yes I like Scorpions. "Blackout" is my favorite album by them. Of course they did play their own instruments, which makes their music better than any music made today. You're either joking or haven't been paying attention. Just take a look at my 2017 release thread and you'll find bands formed in this decade releasing albums last year, and they all play their own instruments. Sample songs below: BURNING WITCHES (formed in 2015) CLOVEN ALTAR (formed in 2012) MASTERS OF DISGUISE (formed in 2013) NIGHT DEMON (formed in 2011) Listened to their first 4 albums...pretty crap for me. sostie, IMO Scorpions didn't hit their stride until "Blackout" (1982) and the follow-up "Love at First Sting" (1984).

Wow, sissy, there's a word I haven't heard or read for a while. You do realise that using it makes you look like a complete and utter simpleton, don't you? I'm good on that.

Smell The Glove was based on Lovedrive, although Virgin Killer was way more out of order.

I was referring to music on the radio. What you wrote was "music made today", not "music played on the radio today". But to answer your question, probably no radio stations play those bands. But does it matter? Radio is becoming increasingly irrelevant. iHeartMedia, the number one radio company in the U.S., declared bankruptcy last week, and a major selloff of radio stations is expected. Furthermore Cumulus Media, the number two radio company, was already bankrupt. Not too surprising, since a study released last year suggests that traditional radio could be dead in ten years. The study also notes that, "Younger music listeners have increasingly turned to sites like YouTube to discover new artists and songs." Traditional music radio is shrinking at best and dying at worst. Personally, I don't care because I've been using YouTube as my "radio station" for years.

I HAVEN'T listen to the radio in YEARS (perhaps MORE than a DECADE). Except for Sirius XM in the car.

In my car I play MP3 CD compilations of the various albums I buy. I can fit ten full albums on one MP3 CD. BURNING WITCHES is one of the bands I'm currently listening to in my car.

This one and Big City Nights were two of my favorite songs as a kid. I was always excited when my dad drummed to them. I don't even think I knew back then they were by the same band.

Yes. I think the Scorpions have had a lot of good albums out and I am enjoying their recent albums like 'Return to Forever', 'MTV Unplugged', 'Comeblack' and 'Humanity: Hour I' and one of my favourites that is very different than a lot of their other stuff was 'Eye II Eye' and '10 Lights Years Away' is one of my favourite Scorpions songs.

This may sound bizarre but the only Scorpions song I've ever heard that I can stand listening to is Winds of Change. The singer's voice makes my left ear feel like it's being pierced by a needle.
