do you think you are good looking? if so, how good looking exactly? if not, why not? this is to learn how people seem themselves, not really what others think of them.
if you are great looking, like 8 and above - how is life? are your looks playing a big part in it you think?
if you are really ugly, like 3 and bellow - how is life? are your looks playing a big part in it you think?

I would rate myself as 5 I am not ugly but i am definitely not the most attractive man in the world. I am average looking. seems to be the prevalent rating here now yes. i understand it may be a bit too private question, but I saw this trailer for "I feel pretty" and there is this super hot actress playing a part of a woman that feels insecure and not super hot and another one (Schumer) feeling average and I am currently writing a story about people rating themselves and would love to explore it with a few more people. Ideally from both ends.

A lot of people say I look either like Chris Meloni or Henry Rollins (and no, I don't look like my avatar. lol.). Well, I suppose that's not bad.

Oh, I don't know. lol. I don't want to come across as vain. i think its ok to think you are good looking. i actually think more people should think that. its incredible how many good looking people are unable to see it/admit it to themselves/others and spend their life feeling sub-par. Something is seriously wrong with humanity. whats wrong with saying you think you are good looking? nothing in my world. congrats and please enjoy it

I mainly wish women liked themselves more. I think I dont have a single friend who thinks they are really good looking. I have one or two that realize "they are not ugly" (both are complete knock outs like as objectively as you can evaluate female attractiveness but don't see themselves as hot. the rest just thinks they are average or outright disgusting.
I tried looking outside of my social circles too, to take more scientific approach and to see how women from other groups and social economic status feel about themselves. I have yet to find what I am looking for (woman that actually genuinely likes herself inside and outside). I talked to models who are still struggling with self-acceptance based on their physical attributes. And "regular women" too. How and why does this happen to what seems to be an entire gender?

Getting older (nearing 68), I'd say a 4-6.
Between the ages of 21 and 51, I'd say I was a 7, ocassionally hitting a solid 7, and sometimes an 8.

But at least you are a guy (I presume) so your looks are not AS important as ours. being average looking at almost 70 is a good achievement I think

Objectively ordinary. Though I enjoy the comparison to Barack, a more accurate comparison is to Gus Fring.

I feel like everybody above 20 has some bags/lines under eyes. yeah, bad diet and lack of sleep will do that to you. but… seems like effects of those two are fairly reversible. so thats something.

4-6. Ten years ago I was probably 5, but then I lost my hair and started to lift weights. I have noticed that women seem to like shaved head and muscular body, so nowadays I'm probably 6.

I talked to models who are still struggling with self-acceptance based on their physical attributes. And "regular women" too. How and why does this happen to what seems to be an entire gender? Looks aren't just about the face. The rest of the package can be appealing and attractive even if the face is average. I'm sure many males may also feel insecure about their looks. All I will say about myself, is that I have more appreciation for my features and body now that I am getting older. Stunners may appear to get away with things that others won't, or perhaps get more attention given to them. People who are good looking or extremely hot may find it very frustrating as well, because others may be crushing on them, or act awkward around them. I guess it can give one more confidence in themselves though. This is only my own observation, I do tend to find many males that I think are better looking than their female counterparts, but that can also come down to dynamic and physical attraction as well and that is purely subjective. I think it is also very difficult to rate looks and attraction away from a pure objective superficial\facade pov. Are people perhaps focusing way too much on looks and is this a culture thing? Genetics can be a cruel thing and at the end of the day, we are all just the package we came with and like they say, beauty does fade. What is being radiated from within is more important.

I know I'm good looking because women tell me that and women never lie
