7.5/10 for me.
One of the better entries in the series. I always enjoyed this one for its fun score and soundtrack and it just has this epic scope to it.

It almost literally is a movie length music video.
But I gotta admit I liked it. 6.5/10

Whoa...you hated it that bad? Not only is it boring; it's the first one where I can truly say that it's unnecessary. I mean, continuing the story from ROCKY I would automatically ruin the impact of the ending, but ROCKY II & III's reasons to continue were relevant (APOLLO thinking the fight wasn't fair and LANG thinking that ROCKY didn't deserve his title). In this one, they just brought another guy to challenge ROCKY just to be the champion. They underwrite ROCKY so much that that he loses what made him interesting in the first place. There are many more montages and the songs rip-off GONNA FLY NOW (EYE OF THE TIGER didn't do that). One montage isn't even about training; it's just about driving to the cabin. Therefore, when the training starts, it has no impact. The worst montage is the one that shows clips from the first 3 movies and even some scenes from this one. Why recap the movie halfway through? To fill in time... even though the movie is still 10 minutes shorter than the others. Just like with MICKEY, I cried when APOLLO died... but I was angry when ROCKY didn't even mention him at the end instead of his b.s. propaganda speech. Wasn't he the reason why you fought in the first place?! Oh, and they jumped the shark by adding a robot.

Entertaining although it's the most formulaic and by-the-numbers of the Rocky films.

Not only is the song super catchy, but the recapping for the previous movies felt like they were setting this up to be the final film, and the one that truly defines Rocky at his most heroic character.

The film that brought the montage to its fullest flower. Seriously, there's like seven montages in this movie!
9/10

Yeah it's definitely a fan favourite. While I wouldn't say it's my personal fave, I can totally see why others would love it.

6/10. The film had some great music and Drago was a great villain. However, the storyline was a retread from the previous films.
