I love brisket. I did one, last Sunday ... it was a "corned" brisket, which I did (a day late), for St. Patrick's day.
My preference is to do it stove-top. My sister prefers the oven. I have never been able to embrace the Crock Pot/"slow cooker" method of cooking.

I've never had smoked brisket. The rub recipe sounds as if it will give it quite a "kick." Also, I've never smoked anything before ... well, maybe, back in college. Do you have a "smoke pit," or do you use a BBQ, or do you improvise? I remember "Count Suckula," talking about outdoor "ovens," that he preferred.
