Bullshit. Mind you the theory of the great Flat Earth Pizza Rolling Pin knocks the socks off your previous best of the 'Great Moon Position Protractor Theory'! Don't complicate your pretty little ginger head with frequency science. Isn't it enough that you have frequency after too many Stellas? He means vibration not frequency, but he is too stupid to even understand his own claims. Yes, vibration, not frequency. I keep getting those two mixed up. Thanks, gadreel.

I think he gets closest to the answer ("why do people believe the earth is flat?") when he says "people are just being contrarian," though I think that's the superficial conclusion to a deeper psychological problem that has many facets to it.

Over the weekend, "Mad" Mike Hughes launched a rocked in the Mohave desert in a test to propel himself high enough to prove the earth is flat (google his name). How does he expect to prove the earth is flat? Why doesn't he just charter a plane to take him to 20k feet? That's a lot cheaper than the $20k he's already spent.

It's no different to believing in chemtrails or the illuminati or 9/11 conspiracies or the moon landing conspiracies. People who want to feel more important than they are, and better than those smarter/more knowledgable than they are. So they pretend to have secret knowledge to boost their ego.

I think that's part of it, but I also think there's even more to it than that. Apparently, research into conspiracy theorist psychology is a pretty new field. I bookmarked THIS REVIEW of the available literature a few months ago but have yet to read it all (just skimmed it). I don't know if it mentions it, but I've often noticed one thing most conspiracy theorists have in common is a profound mistrust of authority, which is perhaps why most conspiracy theories are government or science related.

No, I neither knew it nor believe it. You should, it is well documented, there is even video footage of it: I do apologise for my ignorance. I am now totally convinced, afterall it was on YouTube so it must be true. Watching Anglo Saxon actors with shaved heads pretending to be priests and regulation Asian looking actors with American accents, has changed my whole worldview. Thanks.

So as I understand it these nutters think that the world is a flat disc with the sun and moon circling above it... like this : With the sunlight only lighting up a portion of the disc because... um, a wizard did it. So if that is so then why is it that I see the sun sinking below the horizon every day? Shouldn't I see it kind of recede into the distance, shrinking as it gets further away, until it eventually disappears? For that matter, why doesn't the sun grow and shrink? My understanding is that these people think it's a relatively small ball quite close to the surface. So if you stand on the equator and watch, the sun should grow as it approaches, reach maximum size at noon, and then shrink as it recedes into the distance. But it doesn't. Also, if the sun and moon circle as shown above, how is it that the moon is visible in the daytime sky some of the time? And how does this model explain solar eclipses? And if the sun and moon are on opposite sides of a circular path like that, why then are there such things as phases of the moon? These seem to be basic flaws in their model.

Interesting that they put the edge of the earth in Antarctica. Why not in the Arctic?

Interesting that they put the edge of the earth in Antarctica. Why not in the Arctic? There's a longstanding idea that there's this "wall of ice" in Antarctica. Most of it goes to an old report from a 19th century explorer and naval officer, Sir James Clark Ross, who sailed down there and reported a giant wall of ice that he had no way to get through. The flat earthers like to think that this wall of ice must have extended right around Antarctica because... well, because they're stupid.

I prefer the Hollow earth theory its of course BS just like the Flat earth. But at least the Hollow earth theory is interesting.

I think there's an error in the artwork: it seems to show the stars off at a distance. Wouldn't they need to be close up like the sun to account for their movement with the sun?

Rather like you, who thinks "What are they stupid?" is some kind of grammatical sentence rather than a demonstration of your own brand of moronic incompetence.
