Are these ads going to get round the users' adblockers? Otherwise there's no point. And anyone frustrated enough to pay is going over to Spotify, not whatever ragtag subscription service YT offers.
Right now the only time I use YT for music is when Amazon Music doesn't have it or when I want to send a song to someone or post it, like on a "what are you listening to?" thread on here.

I don't care how many ads YouTube shows me, I'm not buying into their subscription model. I use YouTube as my "radio station" - it's how I discover new artists and albums. When I find an album I like well enough, I buy the CD.
However, even when I own a CD and have ripped it to my computer, I sometimes still listen to it in YouTube. That's because my browser is already open and YouTube is more convenient than launching a separate media player application. But if YouTube frustrates me enough, I'll just listen to content I already own in a media player.

My only beef with You Tube is when things are deleted.
God bless you always!!!

P.S. I want back what was taken away of my late beautiful precious Steve Sanders of the Oak Ridge Boys!!!

None of my serious listening is done via YouTube anyway. I also mostly just use it to find/preview new bands and introduce others to music I like. All my serious listening is done from music I've either ripped from CDs or downloaded in one form or another.

Before I got Amazon Music, I too was often playing music I owned on YT instead of walking just a few steps into the other room to get the CD. Pure laziness. Now with A.M. and switching to Spotify in May, I'll probably never have to pick up one of my CDs ever again.

Now with A.M. and switching to Spotify in May, I'll probably never have to pick up one of my CDs ever again. I rip all the CDs I buy to my computer, so I can create MP3 CDs to play in my car. But even though all those MP3s are on my computer, it's often more convenient for me to play a track in my already open browser, rather than take the time to launch a media player. I do still play purchased CDs while I workout in my basement.

It is not so much the ads I have a problem with on You Tube but the fact when I try to watch music videos of some Australian artists and bands I can't watch them and get a stupid message telling me that they have been blocked on grounds on copyright and can only be viewed in North America. These are AUSTRALIAN artists and bands and should work here.
