Loved it, especially when his theme started playing. I got goosebumps.

His scene with Luke was just about the only good thing in that movie.

His appearances have been less and less welcome with each film

One of the best scenes in the movie.
I know the cynics will say it's fan service, pandering, etc., but this is one time where I'd disagree. It's a turning point for Luke and it has genuine emotion/pathos to it.

Some extra scenes to enjoy if you liked the movie:

I thought it was a missed opportunity. Does Yoda do anything meaningful, help in the final battle? No! Which means in the final analysis, Admiral Holdo, who was generally incompetent, and only got her position due to the fact everyone above her in the chain of command was either dead or incapacitated, got to be a bigger hero than Yoda!

One of my favorite scenes in the movie. And concerning the Jedi texts, I'm pretty sure Yoda didn't destroy them, since Rey already took them on the Falcon without telling Luke. According to the Star Wars wiki: "Luke attempted to burn down the ancient tree along with the texts, and was aided in the endeavor by the Force spirit of Yoda, though Rey had already taken them with her aboard the Millennium Falcon, unknown to Skywalker". The jedi texts still exist and are safe for now.

I'm surprised some of you liked it. He was only there so fans couldn't be mad that Rian decided to destroy the Jedi texts. Yoda was literally only there to say to the fans, "It's OK, Yoda says it's OK." It's definitely one of my least favorite scenes in the movie. I knew nothing about the Jedi texts until this movie, so why would I be mad about their destruction...Assuming they were destroyed?

Am I the only one who thinks that the complaints people have about this film (the humor, porgs, trip to Canto Bight, etc.) aren't as bad as people make them out to be?

people complain about Luke being out of character in TLJ. Poor Yoda was worse: - starting with Yoda calling Luke "Skywalker" - did they switch to surname-basis since the OT events? - Yoda giggling and stomping feet like being stoned - some think this is OT-Yoda, yet he was only 1.5 scenes like that in Empire: To test Luke! - Force Ghost Yoda can cast lightning as weapon, and beat Luke with the Ghost cane - seriously, what happened to "I cannot interefere", some help would have been welcome in the past, present and future... - Yoda babbling nonsense like "page turners they are not", and being pleased that a 19 year old untrained girl stole the texts and will carry on the Jedi legacy as last Jedi...? Abysmal writing only for casual fans with too much faux nostalgia. ![](https://s26.postimg.org/xr9gjsqs9/frozen.gif)

Rey stole them from Luke as he was not worthy of them. Untrained Rey will carry on the Jedi Legacy and build the new Jedi Order. MaRey Sue incarnate.
