Additional thoughts:
Interesting that the LLS of the regular contest and the final BR answer were both -- Henry James
The QM inadvertently left off one other BR -- Nathanael West (Burgess Meredith and Maureen Stapleton)
Too exhausted to post the commentary -- will do that tomorrow
Thanking the 12 Angry Men and Women for a successful finale to the March Madness

Always enjoy a little Rodgers and Hart.
Tough Bonus Round. The memory ain't what it used to be. Got shot by a nurse and had to eat dinner while it was going on.

A triumphant return to the Winner's Circle for Linda!! A great job by all players. This was quite challenging. I was just lucky enough to fire off one last shot that landed me poolside at the DDC. A great way to end the merry month of March. Matt, thank you more than usual for this game. It was a bonanza for lovers of both movies and books. This game was brilliantly constructed from every angle you look at it. It will be studied and discussed in salons and saloons for generations to come. Looking forward to April and to spending more time in the company of all who assemble here. Papa Hemingway says, "Happy Holidays, everyone!"

The above message has been stolen from jervistetch as it was too good to only be posted once and says what I would say if I could write that well!

LINDA HARD-COVERS THIS BOOK QUIZ !!! _______________________________________________________________________
The Dirty Dozen made it a real (Geraldine) Page (Lana) Turner:
Frequent Champion Linda aka Neuro Crowded Halls of DDC Members Delon and Staccato and Julie and Kijii and Spider ... and Jervis too
Always Quality Players Marsha and Aussie
Participant Pal Bat
and our Tee-riffic Twin Interns Tele and Taran
______________________________________________________________________
March totals will be posted tomorrow -- consider it an Easter basket. Games in April will be on the light side, numbers-wise. The Quizmaster will be occasionally on the road recruiting and interviewing new staff members for GG Ltd. (very limited). The turnover rate is even greater than the revolving doors at the White House. There will still be Quizzes, just fewer than usual -- as Al Jolson puts it:
Though April Contests still come your way There'll be less of them, I'm sad to say But when you're playing, have some regret Because while there will be just half of them They're twice as hard, I'll bet
Now when you see games upon these boards Hoping you'll play them if time affords So keep on looking for Matt's Quizzes And listening for his Songs Whenever April's Contests come along

I think I had an unfair advantage on this quiz. I spent 11 years working in a high school library and one of the the most commonly asked questions was: Can you recommend a book that has an movie version that is true to the book? The answer was there aren't many.
I even had a teacher ask to borrow my VHS of "The Innocents" because she was taking a class for her Masters on "TheTurn Of The Screw" and hadn't had time to read it. But every once in a while, I felt that that I had done some good when a student would come back for more James Hilton after reading "Lost Horizon" or "Random Harvest." But one student shocked the heck out of me when he said he wasn’t much of a reader but needed a book for his Brit Lit class. I gave him the short novel, "The Picture Of Dorian Gray." When he returned the book, he thanked me and showed me a very thick collection of the works of Oscar Wilde he had purchased. I had inspired a reader!
The works of Frances Hodgeson Burnett were favorites of our English as a secon language student. I can remember going over to Crown books and buying paperbacks of "The Secret Garden," "The Little Princess" and "Little Lord Fauntleroy" to keep up with the requests.
Thank again for the challenging contest.

Deducting 5 points from Linda's total for illegal use of life experience! Thanks for sharing that neat story.

I've been trying to delete your name for months, Jervis -- but it just keeps on re-appearing ... like a very bad penny.
OK OK, it's been restored (geez whadda complainer).

You're right -- but I was outvoted by Lady Garth, the Seven Little Garths, and the GG staff. Even Solly from the Deli next door cast a ballot that favored you.
It wasn't unanimous though -- Igor the Bodyguard sided with me (he's afraid of me anyway).

Come on Bat, don't exaggerate -- that's just Steve and John reacting to making it to the DDC for the first time (all new players have that same look). It's as PLANE as the nose on your face. You really AUTO know better than that. After a couple of contests they will both be well TRAINed.
