If they are “unreported” then how do you know about them? Rapes don't happen unless people report them to the cops? Got it. Nice straw man there! But that still doesn’t answer the question of how you KNOW something happened when nobody is reporting it. I guess we’ll never get an answer to that one!

And I already made it clear that I wasn’t referring to statuary rape, or some other nonsensical thing. I specifically limited the discussion to actual rape. And it sounds like you’re saying it’s theoretically possible and hypothetically has happened before, but you’re not able to provide an actual example of this ever happening? Yes, & then in my next post, I shared the link about actual cases of women forcing themselves on men sexually. No you didn’t. You shared a link where a bunch of guys made unvalidated claims of what supposedly happened. Where is the link showing a woman actually convicted of RAPING a man?

tpfkar Haven't "proved" anything, I just supplied a "link showing a woman actually convicted of RAPING a man". And if you want to make a point on your three bylines, knock yourself out. Prevalence and Predictors

Prevalence and PredictorsI didn't track every detail of it, I just posted a link of a case I remembered. It certainly seems to provide support for a woman convicted for the deed. As for your point, I'm happy if you are, whatever it is. Drunk Girls

I’m not talking about incidents of forcible sodomy or “rape” due to age of consent laws. I’m talking typical, non consensual, sexual intercourse. Is it possible for a female to actually rape a male? Well of course. Obviously. Duh. Why would this even be a question? I'm not in the habit of memorising court cases. But a quick google will show you plenty of cases.

If you vote yes, can you cite a specific example where a woman has ever been charged/convicted with such a rape? If you vote no, please explain why you think only men can perform the act of rape? Yes. There have been some court cases convicting some women of this, but mostly it's men raping women. It goes without saying that many cases go unreported.

That example was the one already cited.

I see rape as a physical over-powering of another person, be it male or female, and forcing penetrative sex "onto" or "into" them. It can also include physical violence, of which there is more likely going to be physical evidence if reported within a quick timeframe. If the female is strong enough, she could easily physically overpower another male and I also think while he is the one penetrating, she can by her own means, force the penetration into herself when he may not necessarily want it.
Clint Eastwood made a film with Charlie Sheen called The Rookie-90, where Eastwood's character is tied up and forced into an arousal by a woman, who then in turn forces a penetration into herself, because he has no other means of getting out of it. He wasn't exactly consenting. This is only a movie scenario and could be considered an extreme one, but it is also feasible. Yes, I think a female can rape a male, but as a "perceived" gender role, the male has always been seen as the masculine dominant one or more aggressive to the approach to sex, and therefore it would be a negative stigma to claim a female raped him. It is even more of a stigma for him to claim he was raped by another male, because of the fear of being labelled homosexual.

Prevalence and PredictorsThe charge, according to the article, was downgraded to "attempted" rape, but she still continued to have sex with him when he told her to get off him. How is that "attempted", if she continued on? Now, if it was the other way around, and he raped her, would he have gotten a 9 month sentence I wonder, if she told him to get off of her?

The Leftovers had a scene in the second season where the main character's son is tied up and a cult member rapes him. There was much discussion as to whether it could be rape since he had an erection, but it fit all the parameters.

I think those that use the "erection" argument are failing to see the bigger picture and are placing a bias against males, so they can keep the female in victim mode in these cases. Like kls has commented, a male can get erections at any stage and it doesn't always necessarily have to be sexually induced. It is just the biological nature of a male, sexual or not, forced arousal or not. If one is restrained and cannot move or get away, then I would consider it forced penetrative sex by the female assailant if he himself hasn't given any consent to the act.

Plea deals are a problem all accross the board. Don't know how much input the victim had into it or if the prosecutors think it couldn't have been all that bad. victim plea
