Let's say you could only watch movies from one decade and it has to be from a 0 to a 9 like 1980 og 1989 it can`t be from a 5 to a 5 like 2005 to 2015. So which decade would you choose as the only decade you could watch movies from?
I would choose 1930 to 1939
This would only apply to movies you could still watch tv series and mini series from any decade you wish.

Killer...
I'd have to go 1950 to 1959.
Second choice would be 1970 to 1979....

1980-1989. In my desert island picks for that decade, I listed: Excalibur (1981) Highlander (1986) Escape from New York (1981) The Thing (1982) Lifeforce (1985) I didn't list any honorable mentions because I was able to come up with that list off the top of head. But now that I think about it, there are a lot more great '80s movies - in no particular order: Krull (1983) Indiana Jones trilogy (1981-1989) Back to the Future Parts I and II (1985, 1989) Batman (1989) For Your Eyes Only (1981) Licence to Kill (1989) The Empire Strikes Back (1980) Robocop (1987) The Terminator (1984) Predator (1987) Aliens (1986) The Running Man (1987) Ghostbusters I and II (1984, 1989) Star Trek II-IV (1982-1986) Blade Runner (1982) The Road Warrior (1981) They Live (1988)

I think many misunderstood what the OP said... I think he meant you can choose ANY 10 year time frame(well basically looks like 9 years but it's actually 10 given the way it works) and not just the usual 1970-1979, 1980-1989 or 1990-1999 and the like. what he meant is that you could for example choose... 1975-1984 or 1982-1991 or 1997-2006 and the like. I am sure you get the gist but anyways... Using the OP's criteria = 2002-2011 ; I was debating with 2001-2010 but what made be choose 2002-2011 instead was because while 2001 had higher peaks than 2011, 2011 goes deeper before quality falls below the 7/10 level. so basically... while 2001 has one 10/10 and two 9/10's and 2011 only has, for the first few movies, one 9/10 and one 8/10 and one 7.5-8/10, which at this point 2001 is clearly above 2011, but where 2011 compensates for that is once I put aside the first few movies from each year you only have one 7/10 left for 2001 where as 2011 still has six movies with one being a 7.5-8/10 and the other five a 7/10 which I think is enough to tip the scales to 2011 over 2001 overall as those additional six movies are enough to compensate for the strength of the first few in 2001. Picking a favorite decade straight up = 2000's (i.e. 2009-2009) ; this is my clear cut winner due to the volume of movies that are not only amongst My Favorite Movies(which contains 186 movies) but this decade also shines in the more higher tier level of movies. Picking my favorite 10 years of movies out of ALL years OVERALL (IN NO ORDER)...1995... 1.Braveheart - 10/10 2.Die Hard 3 - 8/10 3.Assassins - 7.5-8/10 -.Desperado -.Casino 6.Friday - 7/10 1999... 1.The Thomas Crown Affair - 9/10 2.The Green Mile - 8-8.5/10 3.The Ninth Gate - 8/10 (my #1 Polanski movie) 4.Payback 2001... 1.Training Day - 10/10 2.Spy Game - 9/10 -.Blow 4.The Fast and the Furious - 7/10 2002... 1.Road to Perdition - 10/10 2.25th Hour - 9/10 3.S1m0ne - 8/10 4.Phone Booth - 7.5-8/10 5.Gangs of New York - 7-7.5/10 6.Panic Room - 7/10 7.The Bourne Identity - 6.5-7/10 2005... 1.Lord of War - 10/10 2.Angel-A - 9/10 3.Munich - 8-8.5/10 4.Thank You For Smoking - 8/10 -.The Matador 6.War of The Worlds - 7.5-8/10 7.The Worlds Fastest Indian - 6.5-7/10 2006... 1.Casino Royale - 9/10 2.The Prestige - 8/10 3.Find Me Guilty 4.Running Scared 5.Mission Impossible III - 7.5-8/10 -.Crank 7.Priceless - 7/10 -.Deja Vu 9.The Departed 2008... 1.Gran Torino - 10/10 2.Felon - 9/10 3.Street Kings - 8/10 4.JCVD 5.Mesrine Part 1: Killer Instinct - 7.5-8/10 -.Taken 7.Appaloosa - 7/10 -.The Bank Job 9.Restraint - 6.5-7/10 10.Valkyrie 2010... 1.The American - 9/10 2.True Grit - 8/10 3.Edge of Darkness 4.The Book of Eli - 7.5-8/10 -.Unthinkable -.Tron Legacy -.London Boulevard 8.Machete - 7/10 2011... 1.Source Code - 9/10 2.The Descendants - 8/10 3.Young Adult - 7.5-8/10 4.Kill the Irishman 5.Drive - 7/10 -.Fast Five -.Mission Impossible 4 8.Drive Angry -.Carnage 2012... 1.Skyfall - 9/10 2.Django Unchained - 7.5-8/10 3.The Grey - 7-7.5/10 4.Flight 5.End of Watch 6.Robot & Frank 7.Killer Joe - 7/10 8.Lawless - 6.5-7/10 p.s. I like topics like this one. Thumbs Up to the OP.

You know 1990 to 1999. 1900-1909 1910-1919 1920-29 30-39 40-49 and so on It can`t be 10 different years like. 1990, 1995, 2000, 1935 and so on. It has to be movies made in one decade like 1980 to 1989.

Feologild Oakes After re-reading it (i.e. "Let's say you could only watch movies from one decade and it has to be from a 0 to a 9 like 1980 og 1989 it can`t be from a 5 to a 5 like 2005 to 2015."), I still think someone could interpret it the way I did given the whole 9-10 (1980-1989) vs 10-11 (2005-2015) year thing in your example. because 'one decade' could be interpreted as say 2004-2013 since it's still the whole nine/ten year stuff as I know 2005-2015 would not be because that's actually 11 years in terms of movies even though looks like 10 and still could be considered 10 in basic math terms etc. so basically it would have been better if you said something like "What's your favorite overall decade for movies?" ; then people could have said 1960's or 1970's or 1980's and so on since it's common knowledge a basic decade means 1960-1969 or 1970-1979 etc. o well, I think the whole random stuff like 1991-2000 or 1973-1982 etc would have been a bit more interesting. either way, I got three different areas covered ; along with what you actually meant since you just confirmed to me what you actually meant is the most basic stuff of 1960's or 1970's or 1980's and so on.

Probably 1950-59.
If any 10 year period, then 1966-1975.
Anything except the 80s. No depth. Once you get past the best couple of dozen you're waist deep in shite.
