What about BARBARY COAST? Is that something of a remake of WWW?
I've watched a couple of episodes and you have the disguises and spy stuff although restricted to a single city-region.

I'm not that familiar with "Barbary Coast". I just know it was short-lived and starred William Shatner. I can't really comment on it.

It's possible I saw it before since I seem to have a memory of Victor Buono having his face peeled off.

Per Wikipedia, "The pilot episode, 'The Night of the Inferno', was produced by Garrison and, according to Robert Conrad, cost $685,000." The show is great. And the DVD sets (I own all four of them) are high quality. The first season DVD set even includes commentary by Robert Conrad and audio interviews, originally done by Sue Kessler as research for her book "The Wild Wild West, the Series". The most recently viewed episode in my rewatch is "The Night of the Double-Edged Knife". Although that is a more traditional western episode, it is still well made and entertaining. In his introduction, Robert Conrad notes what a terrific guest cast it has.

I remember that (vaguely though).

Do we have a thread on this? Sorry if we do, I couldn’t find one. One of my favorites, mostly for the surrealism and the delightful convolutedness of the plots. Though billed as a combination between westerns and Bond, regarding the first it has hardly anything to do with contemporaneous westerns, and regarding the second it’s tonally and thematically closer to The Avengers than it is to Bond. Anyhoo, I was rather amused by “The Night of the Simian Terror,” which MeTV showed recently: the plot was a rather close re-working of The Hound of the Baskervilles, of all things! One of my all-time favorite shows, and you make a very good point that the series owed a good bit to The Avengers (another all-time favorite) in terms of overall feel.

I remember that (vaguely though). I first heard of it in a William Shatner bio documentary. They just showed a pic of him in a disguise. I watched a couple of episodes but its rather bland compared to WWW. They run a casino I think, and Doug McClure is the straight man. So it's kind of WWW in reverse--the lead is the disguise-adopting one.
I remember the WWW reunion movies.
Anyone know which is the episode with the co-star that was taller than Conrad? I read he was upset about one where the woman was taller than him.

Conrad wore lifts so he would be of similar height to that of Ross Martin.

I've got to get back to my TWWW rewatch at some point. I stopped after the third disc of Season One.
I've switched to rewatching the first six seasons of "The Venture Bros." in preparation for the imminent DVD release of Season Seven.
EDIT: I see, in retrospect, this is my three-thousandth post!

I never watched the show regularly but caught it now and then. Maybe I should check out the pilot... I could have sworn catching a bit of an episode where William Shatner was a agent friend of West and Leonard Nimoy as the villain but couldn't locate it in a search. I remember a documentary discussing the shows the Star Trek cast were guest stars of during the series' run. You’re thinking of an episode of THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. – “The Project Strigas Affair” (S1, E9) In it, Shatner plays the “regular guy” drawn into the caper of the week and Nimoy plays the assistant to the bad guy Werner Klemperer. Shatner and Nimoy had only one scene together at a party. Oddly enough, the shot of the two of them was in the closing credits (which featured selected pictures from the episodes only during season 1) even though STAR TREK had not premiered yet and no one could possibly have realized the future significance of it.

Good theory but this was a color Wild Wild West episode. And I only heard of that Man From Uncle in more recent times. this was like a channel hopping situation--probably what happened was I watched a show that discussed the Star Trek actors appearing in other programs-and somehow my mind jumped to the idea--OR I was watching a brief bit of Wild Wild West and the idea came to me because someone in the show reminded me of Kirk or Spock or had been in a Star Trek. Or I had been watching the Batman Green Hornet crossover and the idea came to me. But it's weird that I would think of Nimoy as the bad guy and Shatner as the fellow agent of Conrad--I may have seen the Columbo with Nimoy in it at the same time. Strange because it seemed so vivid. I had recalled a tv movie in the 70s about people playing a game around a dinner table with a "David Niven" type guy--and I began to believe it was all in my head--but someone finally solved the mystery. I only need to switch Niven with Barry Sullivan to get the name of it.

I watched the second episode--the one with JD Cannon as some kind of Napoleon wannabe. The musical score is really good for the episodes.

I paused at Episode 12, "The Night of the Human Trigger". But that's not a reflection on the quality of the series. The first dozen episodes have some great stuff, including two Dr. Loveless episodes. I first needed to finish Bosch Seasons 4 and 5. Furthermore, I'm still working on a complete re-watch of The Venture Bros. Seasons 1-6, prior to watching the recently released Season 7; I've gotten through the first three seasons of that. But once my Venture viewing is complete, I'll eagerly return to TWWW.

There are only a handful of episodes that I don’t know all of the dialogue. “Human Trigger” is one of them. Not a fav.

Artie’s character, Mojave Mike, saves the episode. Bad guy: “You would turn in your friend for $10,000 dollar reward?” Mike: “That’s the least I’ll take for him.” 😂

Okay, how about the lovely Joanna Moore?
