That's the only Shitmat album I own, but I do really love it. This is my favourite track, leaping from Windsor Davies to Misfits (I think), Rage Against the Machine and Aerosmith. It just cracks me up.

It just cracks me up. That's one Shitmat album I don't own! I've got "One Foot in the Rave" and "Grooverider". I've been looking for "FEB" for years. I know I'll have to get it online because you can't buy it in shops (at least, not the ones in my area). I'm waiting for a good deal.

"Ring Me Up Heaven, Please, Central" - Will Oakland
1909 pop hit...a sad song of a child trying to call her dead father on the telephone....

"Dearie" - Will Oakland
A popular song in the 1900s, recorded by various performers. Oakland's version came out in 1909 as an Edison Amberol record, which unfortunately tended to wear out easily.

"Norah Acushla" - Will Oakland
I must admit, I disliked Oakland's voice when I first heard it, but after a while his "kicked in the groin" vocal approach began to grow on me.
This song was first published in the 1870s, so was already an old song when this version came out in the 1910s...

"The longest way 'round is the sweetest way home" - Will Oakland
Pop from 1909. A shame the sound quality is so poor, this is a charming love song. I'd like to see someone do a modern recording of this.

"We've been chums for fifty years" - Will Oakland
From 1909. I can't imagine a song like this being a hit these days.
