An incredible rich and majestic sounding instrumental and it is one of the best numbers of that album along with Domino Part 1 and 2. Never get tired of hearing them over and over. Impressed at how fresh The Brazilian still sounds, compared to a lot of the stuff Genesis put out during the 80s.
Haven't seen The Golden Child in a few years or so, but I remember it to be a slightly disappointment for me as I did not think it was anywhere near close to being as good or memorable as some of Eddie's better pictures of that period, and his acting seemed a little off in certain parts as well.
Of course it might have to do something with a bit of a mediocre or rushed plot/storyline and I am just glad John Carpenter backed out or if he got fired or whatever, as I think he was originally gonna do the movie to begin with, but instead he thankfully put out his own fantastic adventure-action cult-classic with Big Trouble in Little China, which I guess did not do as good at the box office as Golden Childen, however Big Trouble is for me on a whole other level or dimension quality and entertaining wise compared to Golden Child.
The Golden Child Theme by Robbie Buchanan sounds very similar (or I guess it is the other way aroud really, as Danny Elfman's score were done in 1988) to the main theme in the classic action/adventure film Midnight Run but also has certain parts which brings my mind to the very well made and gritty late night action/crime film Code of Silence (1985) with Chuck Norris. In fact, I think it is his best movie and role, as here he finally got to show off more than just being a karate/soldier b-movie star, and it was directed by Andrew Davis and set in the inner city of Chicago where he portrays a more "normal" everday cop and he did a very good job at doing so.
Anyway, what I enjoyed the most were soundtrack by David Frank which brought along with him a beautiful and very atmospheric score.
