Your Internet Boyfriend John Boyega Is in Talks to Play a Marvel Superhero
Get excited, because John Boyega could potentially be joining another major franchise. The 26-year-old Star Wars: The Last Jedi actor recently appeared at Awesome Con in Washington DC, and said a future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe wouldn't be entirely out of the question for him.
Rumors have been circulating for some time now about Boyega stepping into a Marvel role — specifically Blade. During a Reddit Ask Me Anything in March, a fan said he could picture Boyega portraying the iconic vampire superhero (and they're definitely not alone). Boyega simply responded, "You genius." At Awesome Con, however, he said he was only interested in seeing Wesley Snipes reprise the role, adding that it would be a "spit in the face of Wesley if I took Blade."
Even so, Boyega confirmed that he has had meetings with Marvel about portraying a superhero, according to Bounding Into Comics. Now the only question is, which one?! Unfortunately, Boyega has yet to divulge any particular character, and he also said this would all happen further into the future given his current busy schedule and involvement in the Star Wars franchise. But hey — at least there's hope!

He's never going to look like Blade. He's....kinda out of shape in Star Wars. And his face will never look as intense as Snipes.

I like what I am seeing in this thread. I think he is a horrible actor and I cannot stand seeing him in everything now. Glad I am not the only one.

You sure you're not letting the Sequels color your views of him? I mean, plenty of MCU actors turned out to be good in their roles when they were considered questionable choices (Pratt as Starlord, Evans as Cap, Holland as Spidey, etc).

"Spit in the face of Wesley if I took the role"? Snipes is pushing 80 years old. I don't want to see him in the role anymore. I don't want to see him as an older Blade training a younger Blade. What would be the point in that? Just for nostalgia? Snipes spit in the face of Blade when he made Blade Trinity and acted like a diva.

Well, he looks like Wesley Snipes so its not an impossibility--but Boyega's record in movies is pretty bad, aside from Star Wars

No, he was not, the movie BOMBED in the US, and Boyega's real voice has a weird British accent--and Boyega since Star Wars was in the The Circle, which bombed--and he was in Detroit, which bombed |
