CHINATOWN with SPELLBOUND, etc. Must be that wonderfully rhymin' mind of yours. Now I think of it, Hitchcock's Frenzy did indeed feature a hotel: The Coburg in Kensington, from which on-the-lam Blaney and girlfriend Babs make a narrow escape from the police (summoned by a suspicious porter). Oh and Doghouse -- in MY FAVORITE WIFE the slow-burning hotel manager was played by DONALD (not Douglas) McBride. (gotcha back)

Although I never confuse the actors themselves, I'm always doing so with the names of Douglas Dumbrille and Donald MacBride, and this time, it looks like I mixed and mismatched.

Ah, I see Doghouse6 beat me to the Ahwahnee’s appearance (or its roman-à-clef version) in My Favorite Wife, which is the first thing that came to mind for whatever reason… Fiddlesticks! Foiled again by the fickle finger of fate! Quick, before someone scoops this one up! Poor Felix Ungar (Jack Lemmon) checks into the Hotel Flanders at the very beginning of The Odd Couple to kill himself—but only manages to give himself that perpetually-aching “oh, my back! My back!”
