Upon looking at the main page of Google search engine, i am bombarded with a crude drawing of this prissy lipped woman. it turns out to be Maya Angelou's 90th birthday despite the fact she died nearly 4 years ago. that's fine but it is also the anniversary of dr martin luther king jr's anniversary of assassination. so when i saw the google search engine i was kind of pissed to see her there and not him.
so i was wondering: who should google have honored? Dr King was at least peaceful and meaningful in his speeches. i have had to sit through a reading of a maya angelou poem at work (i teach elementary school) and it was inappropriate to say the least.
