.... God Bless America at the end of every speech? Politicians from other countries don't say it.
It doesn't make sense. Why would He bless America over other countries? Does he like the color of their money? The lyrics to their national anthem? The fact that they have several flavors of Rice-a-Roni? God really doesn't prefer the US over say South Africa, Afghanistan, the Congo or the North Poll. He simply doesn't give a crap!
Thoughts?

People like condensed, meaningless bump sticker slogans from their politicians, nuanced ideas make their head hurt.

you can't possibly get away with all manner of state sponsored genocidal behavior unless a god is on your side.

Americans like to think that God is exclusively on their side!
Politicians merely re-enforce that notion to appear popular with that element!

why would people from other places bless America?
it is because we came from nothing. we were 13 colonies [12 really] who were fed up with psycho king George and we revolted and revolted and revolted. so he sends his 'christophers' 'paulies' and 'sylvios' to America to deal with us. and 8 years later we win and they go back to Tony and admit defeat. we had to melt household metal to form our bullets and cannonballs. we also had to offer prizes for gunpowder production. we came from nothing. and we still kicked ass.

you can't possibly get away with all manner of state sponsored genocidal behavior unless a god is on your side. Yep, exactly. This is esp. true of American conservatism. They try to bury their nasty agenda under a blanket of patriotism and icky religion, like pouring ketchup over an unappetizing meal. In the recent special election in Pennsylvania, the Republican candidate, Rick Saccone, was in trouble for his trumpian extremism. So, at the last minute, Saccone appeared in public to declare, " “I’ve talked to so many of these on the left and they have a hatred for our president. And I tell you, many of them have a hatred for our country. I’ll tell you some more — my wife and I saw it again today: They have a hatred for God. It’s amazing." That is all "God bless America" means. It is a meaningless invocation that supposedly casts an aura of religiosity over even the most hateful politico.

A lot of people like to believe that there is a god. A subset of them like to believe that god is on their side. Politicians like to get votes from those people, so they go along with the idea.
