Not really. You are getting to know all the other characters. The 1st book was mostly about trying to figure out who the bad guy(s) are. You can't do that by being in everyone's head. Notice after that they go into almost everyone's head. I'd say that Ned was more of a tour guide than a lead character. A tour guide, sure. The one with the most screen time and dialogue - almost twice the time of any other character. The patriarch whose family are all major characters. The Warden of the North whose home is the seat of power for the largest of the Seven Kingdoms. The one doing research to figure out what's really going on. The one making sacrifices to stand up for his morals. You just hate being wrong. Not really. I just never saw any character in that series as a lead. Major characters, yes, but no leads.

A Marvel fanboy who thinks the Dark Knight movies are the best superhero movies by far, who has never read a Marvel comic, who doesn’t own a single Marvel movie and who hasn’t seen Black Panther? If you aren't with us then you are with them. Basically. Lol.

Ah, so you don't have a rational argument for your 'Ned was not the lead' thesis, just a gut feeling.

The main character of A Song of Ice and Fire is the Known World. The PoV characters are tour guides as I said above. All we are doing is going place to place and learning about those places through the characters' eyes. That's why we really don't have set PoV characters in every book.

Robb, Kat, Ned, Littlefinger, Stannis, Tywin, Barristan, etc. etc. etc. Seriously. I do not think any show or movie has the balls that Game of Thrones has when it comes to killing characters.
