When is your fridge due?

I kind of cheated and picked once a week, because it happens more often than monthly. But I'd rarely need to do thorough cleanings, because I don't like spills drying or too many cruddy things in the drawers or shelves. My problem is leaving too many sauces in there past their expiration.

We clean any drips, spills as they occur, any foods that are old or bad are tossed, then actually only clean it once a year.

I recently reported a gas leak in my kitchen...the gas company guys came quickly and informed me that the regulator on my stove was defective and needed to be replaced. I went to a local appliance store and acquired a brand new stainless steel stove...when the guys moved my old stove out, the floor underneath was beyond gross...I spent over an hour cleaning a space just 30x30 inches square... with degreaser and Lysol cleaner...!!!
My fridge is a whole 'nother story...

...fridge goop is difficult to clean unless you let the unit come to room temperature, which means you need to throw out everything that is in storage.
Even items in the freezer have "use by" dates which is another item to pay attention to...closely...
Milk and cheese are items I pay close attention to when stored in my fridge.
I reluctantly throw out so much food that I don't use by the "use by" date. I do not hesitate to throw it out however. Recently, a supermarket manager informed me that "use by" dates are arbitrary and should be ignored. But for me, better safe than sorry...there is nothing worse than soured milk...!!!

In between once a week and once a month. Unless there are any spills/drips/leaks.

Just tossed a few items that had been in there since Obama's first term.

Just tossed a few items that had been in there since Obama's first term. I have a good way to combat that. I have one of those fridges that has the fridge on the bottom and the freezer on the top. Get a couple of those big jugs of juice (those cranberry juice jugs with the handle are good). Drink the juice (healthy for you as well) then fill up with water and put in the back of the fridge on the lower level. This is where I would end up finding Jimmy Hoffa. With the juice jugs of water there, nothing would get pushed to the back.

Served the same purpose, though.
