After re-watching the original series of Twin Peaks and Fire Walk With Me and then watching The Return over the last month or so, I'm craving more Lynch. Prior to the TP binge I haven't seeen any of his work in close to ten years. I still think the opening act of LH is one of the best things he's done.

Strange film but my favorite of Lynch. The soundtrack was amazing. Bill Pullman was excellent.

One of the most incomprehensible things he's done. In a good way. But not sure it bears rewatching for me. Gary Busey, for instance.

Strange film but my favorite of Lynch. The soundtrack was amazing. Bill Pullman was excellent. Probably third favorite Lynch for me after INLAND EMPIRE and Blue Velvet, might fall behind Mulholland Dr. occasionally. Overall the soundtrack is pretty cool, but not a fan of some of the individual nu-goth-industrial type tracks they used (NIN, Manson, etc.) though arguably they worked with the film. Pullman was great.

For me Lynch is probably one of the most re-watchable directors, partly due to the abstract/ambiguous/open-ended narratives.

It's probably Lynch's creepiest film, IMO.
And good luck trying to comprehend it. I've seen it about 5 times & still can't figure it out, haha. All I know is that it has to do with dissociative fugue states.

Like Mulholland Dr. which is pretty similar in a lot of ways I think I get the general idea, but I'm sure some of it is open to interpretation.

Pullman was great. I like the jazz that was used and the Bowie track. It also exposed me to more Rammstein (outside of "du hast" which I used to enjoy quite a bit in my college days (circa 1995-2000). I was never much of a NIN fan either though. But the Perfect Drug track was well used. I want to say Trent Reznor collaborated with Lynch to put the soundtrack together but it's been a long time since I looked into it. Blue Velvet is my second favorite Lynch for sure. Lost Highway is just so creepy and atmospheric it just wins me over every time I view it.

It's still much better than the third season of "Twin Peaks"

It's still much better than the third season of "Twin Peaks" While not without its flaws, I quite liked TP3 overall. It does seem to be quite divisive, but so is most Lynch I guess.

The mood/atmosphere in that first act is amazing, setting it almost entirely in the one place, the limited palette, fades to black and minimal dialogue.
