Not even close.
Jaws.
The characters in JP are kind of retarded. Can't say that about Jaws.
JP was advertised as "Jaws on Land" and I remember Gene Siskel highlighting that claim in his criticism of JP's characters. It's a shame because Goldblum has some good moments and Sam Neill (with the right script) can be great too--I think his character is much more interesting in JP 3. It felt more natural, even his interaction with the kid.

Jurassic Park doesn't have Quint, with all due respect to Muldoon...

I love Jurassic Park but Jaws is better. The trio of characters is really what makes the difference.

Wow. I really thought it would be closer than this.
Personally, I can't choose. They're both spectacular. No, I was CONFIDENT that Jaws (1975) would RUN AWAY with it.

Wow. I really thought it would be closer than this. Personally I can't choose. They're both spectacular. Jurassic Park is a derivative of Jaws and is a more flawed movie despite my love for it. It feels far more paint by the numbers.

I find JP to be the more fun movie, but Jaws is definitely great as well. Since Jaws is taking the lead very much though, I'll say Jurassic Park, but it's so close. However, I do love my horror movies and the genre wouldn't be the same without the shark classic.

Jaws is full of great scenes. The only good scene in JP is Goldblum questioning the ethics of re-creating an extinct species.

Jaws, duh! Jurassic Park, although great, really doesn't have the "real fear" the audience feels watching Jaws: Being eaten by a great white shark is a thing that could really happen to you, and that primal fear adds another layer of scary. Also, the characters and what they say are far more interesting in Jaws.

Was never a huge Jaws fan. Jurassic Park, on the other hand, is my absolute favourite Spielberg film.

I really dislike Jaws’ ‘bonding’ scene.
