But that only works if the person is too short, not too tall!

Replace Denzel with Wesley Snipes, since he was actually casted as Black Panther in the 90s.

But that only works if the person is too short, not too tall! Freddie Prinze Jr. says when he was on 24 with Kiefer, he (Prinze) often had to take off his shoes to shoot with Keifer due to their height difference (4 inches) and Kiefer being too cool to stand on a box or anything.

No, Natasha is a hardened killer and fighter first and foremost. Nope, spy. A spy that stands out or looks too intimidating is a failure. She was a spy when she was first introduced in the comics. How many times has Natasha done spy-work in the movies compared to how many times she's fought someone?

As far as we can tell from the movies, she's a fighter primarily and does little actual spy work. Besides, you don't become that good a fighter without having tons of experience, and you don't get that much experience and not look hardened after it. And bottom line is, she's not portrayed that soft-looking in the comics. In the comics, she's an exotic, mysterious hardass that can be quite intese. Same with Gamora. And that part of their personality is missing from their onscreen depictions.

The comics aren't consistent on it either. Her first appearances she looked harmless, which was the point. Gamora has plenty of times she's not drawn terribly intimidating looking.

Great choices!
I could easily see Johnny Depp as Winter Soldier.

I'm sorry but I don't know if I could take Arnold seriously as Drax.
I mean I barely take him serious in anything.

Neither Scarjo or Saldana can do that.

They wouldn't have made Oldman Banner. He was on too much of a villain wave in the 90s. But he was cast as problematic people with sympathetic sides--JFK, Dracula, Beethoven, .... Actually I prefer someone closer to Bixby but Oldman seemed to be the Edward Norton of the early 90s. Yeah, but Norton went back and forth between hero/anti-hero and villain. I don't think Oldman truly crossed that line until Batman Begins, did he?

Imagine if They ended up casting Cruise as Stark in the first Iron Man It wouldn't have been good, and given how Cruise micromanaged production on last year's The Mummy I say its a good thing Marvel never went near him for the part.

Good list but I can't see Keanu Reeves as Doctor Strange at all. Maybe Jeff Goldblum could have pulled it off.
