Christianity does not need to be 'entertaining' for it to be true. in fact, quite the opposite... many won't like Jesus Christ's teachings because they are not always easy and put restraint on what people can do and in today's world people want to do just about anything based on how they feel about it whether they personally see it as good or not and when going with that mindset one will inevitably choose stuff that's sinful given our fallen nature as after the fall of Adam/Eve humanity no longer see's things how they truly are and bad things can appear good etc. I think the sexual desire is one of the easiest ways for people to fall into serious sin because the only legitimate use of the sexual faculties is through legitimate marriage and that's pretty much it. another teaching of the Catholic church (the one tied to Jesus Christ) many won't like is that condom usage(basically artificial contraception) is sinful but many will ignore this because it inconveniences people and puts restraint on the use of their sexual desires and people don't like this because that desire is quite powerful and one can't resist that without God's help, which we obtain His grace through regular prayer etc (confession/sacraments etc) which helps resist temptation to sin which is especially helpful when it comes to the sexual desire. just some thoughts

Christianity does not need to be 'entertaining' for it to be true. It also doesn't have to be literally true to be meaningful. I agree with much of what you said. Unfettered sexual promiscuity seldom leads to a meaningful life.

I have never heard a priest speak out against it at mass or in conversing.

tpfkar Christianity does not need to be 'entertaining' for it to be true. It would be nice if it just wasn't grossly immoral. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

Finished it yesterday.
the Q&A at the end was great. JP is a person who really chooses his words with care.

I wonder if JP is the "tl;dr, but I'm going to spout nonsense as if I read-and-know-it-all" type.
