Is google broken or something? Yeah, it is. Broke down yesterday. Actually it was only the snail bit and it was only moving slowly not completely broken.

I am pretty certain (without looking it up) that there are snails in nearly every part of the planet. News to me, and I've been around much of the ... USA anyway. Where have you been outside the USA?

The last time I saw a praying mantis was about 45 years ago. I've seen one twice in my life. One was last year in my backyard. I was walking towards my back door when one flew right in front of me and landed on the side of the house. I didn't think it was a mantis at first because I didn't even know they could fly! No doubt when I got an up-close look at it, though. Always thought they were really cool insects. Remember seeing one take down a scorpion on a nature documentary once.

We get lots here, I have been lucky enough to see a egg sack burst twice, and hundreds of tiny little mantis' come out.

I'm not doubting you. Okay, I usually doubt links people here provide, but this time is different. There is no reason to lie about snails. I'm sure they might be all around me, but I haven't seen them maybe because I'm not looking for them. Wow, I mean I just happen to see them randomly quite frequently, I am kind of surprised they are not common enough that you see them all the time.

We get heaps here too. They even sell them as pets in pet shops.

Never seen that with Mantis, but I've seen it with a spider. We had hundreds of baby spiders crawling all over a tarp we had outside once when I was a kid. I think I even took some pics of it.

They are super cool, I had one must have burst inside my car, I noticed a tiny (2mm long) mantis at the bottom of my front windscreen and was leaning in at the lights to look at it and smiling away when I looked to the side and saw a cop car next to me all three looking at me like I was some kind of wierdo.
