Honestly? Yes, I would. But only if it did not require any social media accounts from users, as I have sub-zero interest in Twitter, Facebook, et al.

I really miss the individual boards and the fact there were people there from different countries and industries that seem to have been able to provide often quite reliable information related to questions I may have had about historical accuracy or how a movie was perceived by a certain group or citizen of a certain country. So for that I would go back.
But at the same time I have hope that maybe this could evolve into a place of similar expertise or at least widen the member population here enough that even more complex questions would get answered and I am very happy this place exists.
Hope. After all - Revolutions are built on that, no? :-)

The lack of the individual boards in the IMDB app is a big loss. If they came back i'd use them. That is where The Movie Database or the IMDb Archive can complement this board. So far, what I have seen on this board is that people actually tolerate opinions different from their own and do not necessarily attack someone with a different opinion or someone capable of expressing an eloquent opinion. In more recent years on IMDb, if you offered a different viewpoint or an articulate, in-depth assessment, some posters were so insecure that they would assault you.

Well, let us face reality: IMDb is not bringing the boards back. IMDb was a trinket for Amazon, and Amazon obviously decided that the message boards were more of a liability than an asset, especially as the company increasingly waded into the movie production business. I wish that Amazon had sold IMDb to someone who cared and would have made a proper investment in policing and improving the boards.

Same here. as i said I'd only post on there again if it was put back exactly as it was. People like at least a bit of privacy too and not having what they said on other sites linked up to their Facebook account so everyone like their friends and family reading it [plus the nosey government and corporations].

I do use the IMDB Archive on my PC however having my PC on my knee in the living room is a tad uncomfortable so i tend to use a tablet or a phone and the IMDB app

This is partly because the gender binary is so slippery to begin with. Are there any transgender historical figures? How do we even determine, in some cases, if a person from history was really transgender or not? If a person from history had sexual or romantic relationships with people of the same sex, then we know that person was probably lesbian, gay, or bisexual. Gender expression can take more subtle forms, though, and those forms are often influenced by cultural norms and assumptions about what it means to be masculine or feminine. In Western culture, it has not been uncommon for celebrities and public figures who express their gender in unusual ways to be misunderstood, dismissed as mentally ill, or otherwise marginalized.

Most definitely, but mainly the individual movie boards. I couldn't care less for the horseshit general boards from there, with all those idiotic trolls.

I am not sure. They pissed me off big time and the site would have to be updated to a tee if I were to go back.

I don't think they will ever have another board system. It wouldn't surprise me if they eliminated the reviews sections, and just kept the ratings function.

Indeed, the people who think they'll bring the boards back are just clinging on to some false hope. Hell, it's already been a month since the boards were removed. If I recall correctly, Col Needham even said that the boards were slowing the site down.

Yes, because although there were many trolls there were many more fans to interact with. Here so far I have seen an obsession with SJW's it's like the Kim Kardashian of the board. though I have not seen many or any SJW's on this board, yet i come across posts about them more frequently than someone who just enjoys shows/movies makes me feel like those people have a saddening obsession with them.

Sure. Ill say this for IMDB,the admins there wouldnt let vulgar profanity to slip by so often. Also thier admins would ban/remove people who actually deserved it there- as well as people committing libel and illegal acts.
