I dont mind if theres funny exchanges between people like Thor and Quill. Thats expected and happens in every comic book film from all brands. I just hope they dont resort to anything like the dance off or ragnarok style jokes to the Grandmaster. If they keep the humour to the level of Civil War then should be balanced well.

What is worrying to me is they said it will be light hearted and funnier than the captain America movies, the captian America movies are their best movies so going away from that is worrying and the movie is about war.

you know another thing again that concerns me. the movie is already cgi heavy. guess you cant help that but that is why funny should be the last thing in their mind.

Well it was always going to be funnier than the Captain America movies just from the inclusion of having the Guardians of the Galaxy in there plus you'd expect there'd be some funny interactions what with a lot of these characters meeting for the first time.
Hopefully it isn't pushed too far. It worked for the The Avengers but it didn't so much for Age of Ultron especially with the way they'd built it up in trailers.
Thanos being another Ultron is my concern.

Thanos being another Ultron is my concern. This is my concern as well. I'm all for fun character interactions but when the sh-t hits the fan, all 50 characters better not be quipping back and forth while fighting for their lives. I highly doubt they'll turn Thanos into Ultron, you'd like to think they learned their lesson. But we won't know for another week.

Yet you left out another thing the Russos said; "You spend hours and hours combing through it until you find the right combination that balances the tone and gets the humor across but keeps the stakes moving forward."

I'm wondering if he actually read it. His comments are just what it says in the link.

I wonder how most have not figured out that the original gotg was not funny at all. to the contrary it was like flash gordon or heman and the master of the universe. I guess that is one of the perk of using Z list characters that nobody knew anything about... but still.

ugh. Really hoping this film delivers but I don't want it filled with lame one liners & unfunny jokes . The MCU brand of humor is so hit or miss imo .

Comedy >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Unintentional Comedy
This is why the MCU is kicking DC's ass.

If the comedy strictly from the interaction between the Avengers and Guardians than I have no problem with it. Hell I really want to see Drax drive Tony nuts lol.
But if Thanos pulls the same bullshit "comedy" as Ultron, we're going to have a problem.

So? As long as its executed fine and doesn't cause any problematic shifts in tone I'm all good.

But if Thanos pulls the same bullshit "comedy" as Ultron, we're going to have a problem. Agreed! But Ultron was supposed to be modeled on Tony’s infantile Id and quips. Thanos shouldn’t mimic that, and hasn’t in his small moments so far. Except for those straight man types not significantly fleshed out, I don’t think any villains have been personality duplicates. I hope that Thanos exhibits the personality his legacy deserves, too.

So it's going to be another MCU movie that's filled with jokes and 1-liners and treats war as a joke?

So it's going to be another MCU movie that's filled with jokes and 1-liners and treats war as a joke? That sounds like more of an apt description for Justice League, actually.
