uk.ign.com/articles/2018/04/20/ant-man-and-the-wasp-new-images-released-story-details-revealed"Per Entertainment Weekly, the Ant-Man sequel will follow Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) trying to rescue Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) — Hope’s mother and Hank’s wife — from the Quantum Realm. Janet got trapped in the alternate dimension decades ago. In the first film Scott was able to come back from the Quantum Realm, and as a result Hope, Scott, and Hank try to come up with a plan to bring Janet home. “Scott entered the Quantum Realm in the first film and came back, which is something they thought was impossible,” Lilly said. “The question has arisen, ‘Can Janet come back?’ So the entire film, my character is hell-bent on finding a way to get into the Quantum Realm and bring her back.” The Marvel superheroes will be going up against main villain Ghost, portrayed by Hannah John-Kamen (Ready Player One). Her ability to move through solid matter makes her a difficult opponent for Ant-Man and the Wasp. “Ghost’s primary power is the ability to ‘phase,’ which allows Ghost to move through solid matter," director Peyton Reed said. "She has all sorts of strange versions of that phasing power — it proves quite difficult for Ant-Man and Wasp to deal with.”

That is actually a cool villain, but so that means Walton Goggins is just some guy? Come on....

Although I wasn't satisfied at all with the first one- I'm hoping this sequel can deliver. The character has a lot of potential.

I was thinking about the first movie and imagine if Hank Pym began as being more antagonistic (like when he was the original Yellow Jacket in the comics) and initial aligned with Darren Cross, so it was up to his daughter to recruit Scott Lang to bring him back on the right side.

That would've been a lot more intriguing than what we got.

That’s a cool idea and it was a popular theory prior to release, too. It would’ve definitely been more complex and interesting. I remember a decent number of people were still upset that Lang was the focus and the MCU’s active Ant-Man wasn’t Pym. I feel like if they had actually done that it may have rubbed some people the wrong way to villanize him and been more fodder for trolls. I haven’t seen anyone else say this, but I was actually thinking that maybe Janet will be a surprise antagonist after being trapped for so long. That would be a cool twist, too.

They were D-listers unworthy of a movie in 2015 or whenever, and they're D-listers unworthy of a movie now.
Hard pass.

Apparently the trainset fight scene was Edgar Wright idea.
I really wish he made Ant-Man.

You got to give credit to Marvel Studios, Edgar Wright left the project was a tragedy, yet Ant-Man was still a success at the box office and reviews. It really could've been Marvel's first failure, but Marvel won yet again.

I think Ant-man and the Wasp are pretty dull but those characters, and a lot of other ones, could have worked well if they were part of a rotation in one or more high budget tv series (I dont mean something like Daredevil or Iron Fist--but a superhero anthology-where they rotate the characters over several months). I think the MCU is ultimate a story fail not just because of Disney's comedy/political fixations, but because the movies take so long to come out--they eat up years of the actors for a few short stories when they could have stretched it out much longer on tv.
I.e. If they had one (or two or at most three) big budget Marvel superhero tv show, where they rotate characters every week or so...so one week its Captain America, the next week its the Hulk, the week after that maybe its Ironman and the Hulk...then maybe its Ghost Rider, then Ant-man...then maybe a group episode special....
They could have had many more adventures, and also introduce a lot more villains.
The way it is now(and with DC tv) is they keep the main characters for the movies, and put the lower tier ones on tv--or with DC, they have two different versions). It's either too much, or too little.
