Wow yeah they do sound a bit different. Especially Lisa. Homer sounds old and tired.
I think I stopped watching new episodes back in maybe the mid-late 2000s. After that I didn't really watch the show much until last year when I started a rewatch right from the beginning. Man the show was great. I'm now onto season 7 and it's still going very strong. I guess the plan is to watch the entire series, or at least until it stops being watchable.
Sad to see what has come of this show. Judging from this clip the show seems pretty boring now.

I watched them a couple years ago and didnt detect any difference from the old days and I know Nancy Cartwright said they could do it for years and years (but then she sounds like she is 10). She said she felt bad when someone would ask her to do a voice for their kid because the kid would be scared that Bart's voice was coming from an older woman.

This would would not be the case if the show ended after Season 20.

All those jokes about movies running out of ideas or franchises running on for too long just loses its meaning when made by The Simpsons in 2018.

I still watch The Simpsons with the kids every Sunday and it is still great, for the most part. Just like any show, the episodes can be hit or miss, but I will never understand all of the hate now. Some new episodes are terrible and some are great. They pretty much sound exactly the same too.

I think when the actors start dying it's time to call it quits. (Miss Crabapple)

Moe is the most notable voice change, he used to have a sharp, witty voice but now he sounds like someone who's just come out of throat surgery.

I think the heartbreaking thing about the show is any attempt at humur. And it's heartbreaking because it's always pathetic. just like two and a half men.
