#InfinityWar is everything you want, nothing you expect. It’s funny, surprising, dark, filled with delightful interplay between characters never seen on screen before. I know many filmmakers say they are trying to make a sequel in the vein of Empire Strikes Back, this succeeds

But personally, if I'd seen #InfinityWar for the first time at a normal screening in a normal theater, I would have walked out afterward, bought another ticket, and walked right back in for a second viewing. That's how much I was into it.

Another thing: I've been reviewing films for decades now, and I have never heard an audience react to the end of a film like the #InfinityWar audience reacted tonight. It was an astonishing experience. (And it's another reason I want to see the film again in a packed house.)
I’ve left every Marvel movie with a sense of where the franchise was going. The strong “Avengers: Infinity War” is the first time where I’m utterly perplexed about what’s next. There were audible gasps at the NYC screening.

Think there's any chance that literally every MCU character is killed off by Thanos less than three minutes in and then we just get a decent, interesting movie that's not too cute by half about the X-Men taking down Thanos? That's all I want to see. |

There's a tweet out there that mentioned that this could very well be the most controversial Marvel movie.
Another one mentioned that the ending may upset some fans.
Honestly this makes me even more excited for the film!

Well on the one hand, yes you did cherry pick, of the many reactions, you had to pick the DC one to go on top. Also why not include the one that mentioned it being disappointing and a step down from the last three MCU movies? Showing different perspectives and all that.
On the other hand, there was no real need to pounce on him for it. The movie isn't out, none of us have seen it, there's no proper reviews for it yet so to outright call it shit is going to rustle people's feathers.

I mean, I've been consistently critical of the trailers, particularly the presentation of Thanos. It's like: you build to this for twenty movies or whatever, so he HAS to work; and based on what we've seen (which, admittedly, isn't the flick) so far, he doesn't. I could've maybe made that more clear, however. So fair enough. Anyway, keep up the great work! |

Well sounds like it will be like the first Avengers except darker and more emotional. I'm happy it's not being called a quip fest like AOU and that Thanos is an actual threat. I wonder how funny but with darker and emotional moments is going to work without being tonally jarring.

Blame them, not me. His behavior was aggressively trollish. Apparently that is acceptable though. |
