I think it will edge it yeah. It's too early to say for sure as we know nothing about it but I would think that Avengers 4 wouldn't open as high as this movie will.
Just as Age of Ultron didn't open as high as Avengers.
So if Infinity War doesn't make the record then I don't know what will. The next contender would likely be Star Wars Episode IX but I'd have doubts with that now too.

This is their shot. It certainly should, considering they've sunk twenty-plus movies into their build.
If this doesn't make more than any MCU movie that came before it, it's a failure in my view.

definitely could, Star Wars did ~248m in December, this is April when less people are traveling for Holidays. So there is a higher potential if demand is there.
