When you look at their latest few villains: Kilmonger, Hela, Vulture, Ego and now Thanos... it seems obvious that even the weakest of these villains could be described as decent at worst, great at best.
Seems safe to say that the MCU doesn't have a villain problem anymore, at least not since Phase 3 started.
Hope the trend doesn't change.

I keep hearing praise for Thanos. I love Josh Brolin so this is really nice to hear,

Yeah so it seems. Maybe this means they'll nail Doctor Doom the 3rd time around once he shows up.

I haven't read any of the reviews but I'll see it for myself in a couple of days.
If true then that would be the last four movies in a row to have a good villain.

Well they had no choice with Thanos, they had to give him some depth because of his 10 year build up. Even though guys like Ego, Killmonger and Vulture are a big step up from Malketh and Mandarin the MCU still has yet to produce a villain on the level of Ras Al Ghul, Joker and Magneto.

Only outstanding MCU villain was Loki in the early days before they degraded him being a jester-sidekick (Ye Norse God, forgive Marvel, they just don't know what they are doing...). Hela, Vulture & Co were portrayed by famous, charismatic actors but the writing was average and paper thin. Still a step-up from the routine MCU villain. Thanos was a embarrassment so far, they did not even manage to keep the skin color and skull the same. And he is the MCU big bad over 18+ movies! Ultimately, Thano's value in the halls of fame will be determined by: - His motivation and character complexity - His arc and development - His plan & actions - His achievements (having your lackeys being defeated by magic stones and dance offs is not that impressive in a modern villain CV) - The dialogue - The performance - The CGI! Seriously, Tinfoil Doom had the worst-looking design in a live-action comic book adaptation film/TV series before prostitute Starfire appeared in ‘Titans’ recently.

From Batman Begins? The MCU blew past him ages ago with Loki.
