Not quite the biggest leap, but definitely in the conversation.
I'd say Captain America: The Winter Soldier is more worthy of that title, off the top of my head.

Not watched any of yours. Only two from me and they are repeats.
The Empire Strikes Back (1980, Irvin Kershner) – 9/10
Return of the Jedi (1983, Richard Marquand) – 8/10

I really enjoyed it. Not quite the best Apes movie, but still good. The motion capture remains stellar and I liked the characters. Being set centuries after the last movie, it was interesting how they made Caesar as some sort of religious figure and explored how some would twist his teachings.

It is okay at best but doesn't hold a candle to the original or even II.

Perhaps the most fun of the series and the funniest. Already been stated that Ford and Connery have great chemistry, but what's funny is that there is only a 12-year age gap between the two, and you'd never notice it.

Not exactly my favourite of their albums but still like it. I Want It All and Scandal are my favourite tracks.

Willie is the one thing that holds it back for me. She remains the most annoying female companion in all the movies IMO.
Otherwise, a fun time for dark as it is and overall I'd take it over Kingdom and Dial any day. This was my first Indy movie actually.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High - 8/10 First Time Viewings: Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024, Wes Ball) – 8/10Repeat Viewings: Star Wars (1977, George Lucas) – 8.5/10I have seen Star Wars only once and quite late in my life. Maybe that's why it did not really feel all that great to me. The Empire Strikes Back is definitely great, though - the only film out of the first six films which strikes me so. I saw them quite late too in life. I first watched them properly around 2017 or so. Have you seen any of the prior Planet of the Apes films?

Some of those CG backgrounds are scarily bad.
