And Leia helping in the fight? She wasn’t even a serious force user whilst alive. And dying of old age? So she’s this film’s Yoda? Plus she’s not old enough to die of ‘old age’. That’s stupid. Her abuse of death sticks in her teens/twenties caught up with her (art imitates life).

The same amount of hiatus between each of the Original Trilogy films.

Or, what do you think the 2020s have in store for humanity and the universe?
Whichever is the most interesting, pertinent, and/or meaningful for you.
Or perhaps both.

At least in reference if not in corporeal form?

You do know that R2-D2 and C-3PO are at least 60 years old.
They are a couple of old rust buckets by now.
We need new blood.
Or at least new oil.

They've never been heroes. At best they are heroic helpers. R2D2 is more than C3PO. Lucas intended them to be unofficial narrators of the entire episodic saga. So at best they might have some small role in helping destroy the Sith at the end. But even that is virtually impossible to happen now since Disney has relegated R2D2 to a scenic backdrop cameo. He has been totally replaced by BB8. Spot on. C3PO literally tells the OT's story to the Ewoks in Return of the Jedi. The original Droid duo were also front in center in the very first Star Wars theme park ride, Star Tours, that opened in the 80's. They were the ones who spoke out to the audiences for the majority of the attraction. That rubs me so the wrong way. R2 has been a driving...force (haha) for the story since Episode 4. Without the Droids taking off in the escape pod in Episode 4, they wouldn't have met Luke and sent him on his mission. R2 saved the queen's ship in Episode 1. R2 took blaster fire in Episode 6 to help his friends gain access on Endor. R2 took blaster fire in Episode 4 while in combat with Luke to blow up the Death Star. C3PO provided council throughout episodes 1-6 and was instrumental in communicating/forming an alliance with the Ewoks. Then all of sudden they're not taking part in helping their friends in Episodes 7-8?! Pff. But who tells the story of C-3PO literally telling the OT's story to the Ewoks in Return of the Jedi?

Without any connection to Skywalker or any of the Original Trilogy characters, future Star Wars movies will make far less money in the coming decade(s).
And they certainly won't be able to bank on relatively unknown actors as new characters.
The only hope might be to have established box office stars play new characters in the established universe.

Not yet, but it will be soon.
Or at least on life support, starting with the next decade.
The Rise of Skywalker will be the last hurrah for the franchise.

I certainly don't, because I certainly don't know how to make $4 billion on top of already having made billions of dollars.
And none of it inherited -- all self-made.

Make them smaller films. Not sure if that's possible without it looking cheap like Serenity. No, they can still be big like the Rogue One and Solo films, both of which looked way much better than Serenity. However, if they're no longer centered around Skywalker or even the sequel trilogy's main characters, would it be feasible or appropriate to still use the same main title/opening crawl sequence and theme music? I like how Rogue One and Solo had distinctly different non-Star Wars main titles and theme music (or at least in the case of Solo, just a hint of it), but then had the classic closing Star Wars theme at the end. Keeping the end credits/theme music the same is a good way of keeping the branding consistent for all types of live-action Star Wars films.

I didn't write that as well as I should have.
The Anakin/Padme relationship was also forced and contrived, but it was far more believable and written and performed much better.

That's true.
He could have been a French expatriate who spent most of his life in Britain or perhaps even America.
After all, Starfleet is based in San Francisco.

I knew before the trailers or any other information came out that Picard was going to be at the Picard family vineyard in France.
Anyone who was familiar with The Next Generation series and especially the movies -- Generations in particular -- would have known that.
What I want to know is, what's up with Data's -- or B4's -- face?

A senior citizen aged Picard... with a thief & a drug addict? Seriously? Even some of the worst trek episodes in the last 50 years, sounds better than this... I'm highly doubtful that this series will do well. I'll be surprised if it lasts for more than one season. The best original Star Trek series movies were where Kirk and crew were not officially working for Starfleet but were in fact renegades.

I think Jean-Luc Picard was a fantastic character, played to perfection by Patrick Stewart, but I am really not very optimistic about this new show. Yes, but it was hard to keep remembering that he was French with that accent of his. Had it not occurred to you that perhaps Picard was French-English? "The Picard that fought at Trafalgar Square."

I keep saying Harrison Ford was the smart one. He signed to only one movie, cashed his $20 million check, and bolted for the door before the franchise completely crapped out. Ford knows how to do things - no wonder he never had an agent prior to Random Hearts (1999). He brokered his own deals. Great job Ford! Harrison Ford has been wanting to get out of " STAR WARS" ever since " THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK" though! And yet he came back, even when he could have flat out refused, especially since he wasn't under a Lucasfilm contract like he was in the early 1980s. He certainly didn't need the money.
