Avi Arad is still allowed to touch comic book properties? Sony seems to be learning as slowly as DC. to begin, i...i think wb is actively trying to fix things....not sure it will turn out amazingly, but there seems to be some effort. sony, i don't think they give a flying fuck.......they just signed a deal with marvel proper, aaaand they announced an animated spiderman film, this avi arad venom project, they're still doing sinister six, and i think a noir spiderman film (or something?) a week later.

It won't turn out well, because they're not smart enough to cast Goyer aside.
As for Sony, that sounds about right.

Yeah, but he always seems to be find his way into working on the script. So how many more times is he going to have to pointblank insult the comic book fandom before he gets severed from working on comic book movies?

So the superhero genre will continue to be held back by this incessant "it needs to be grounded and realistic" idiocy due to his continued involvement in the DCEU. Wonderful.[/sarcasm] Great, more washed-out, muted color schemes and depressed heroes as far as the eye can see.

Can definitely tell my comment about your mother was closer to the truth than I actually intended. Guessing she also smoked and took drugs during the pregnancy.

That only works if you actually have an argument. You've done nothing on this topic but post an image.

Now the word on the web is that it's going to be shot as a hard R-rated horror movie. The Deadpool effect strikes again.

I'm actually wondering if it might be one of those not connected, but still kind of connected sort of things. What I mean is they won't reference any MCU events, but there is nothing in the film that contradicts them, so they could tie it back in later if they wanted to, or you could watch it as connected if you choose to.
I really wonder if they include the Spidey backstory at all, even in flashback or as an opening credit flip book type of deal. If he's just completely unconnected to Spidey, then I honestly don't know how I'll care about it, even it's pretty good. I mean there just won't be a hook there.
