Since you brought metal up. Perfect 'redemption' song. Awesome to run to and work out to AC/DC - 'Who Made Who': AC/DC Who Made Who

Almost forgot this band existed (there were a lot of great bands around this time).
I like old shots of London, even if it was only 20 years ago. That said, the West End looks pretty much the same today.

Charpentier's opera "Louise". A 1935 recording with Ninon Vallin in the title role and Georges Thill as Julien.

Mado Robin sings song / aria which finished on the Bb above Top C! And it's not using a whistle register. Pretty amazing:

When Bon Scott died I thought they would never be the same and then along comes Brian Johnson. No other band has hand a replacement singer that has worked out so well. I haven't listened to any of their new music since Brian Johnson's retirement. I can't imagine it would be the same.

I haven't listened to any of their new music since Brian Johnson's retirement. I can't imagine it would be the same. I had always liked the AC/DC stuff I had heard on the radio but never really gave them any more attention than that. I never had an album, never deliberately put them on, never saw them live. Then two years ago at Coachella, they were headlining the first night. I, not really caring too much about them, basically had them as an afterthought. I'd see who I wanted to in the electronic tent, and then on the way out, I'd catch the last hour of AC/DC to say I saw them and add them to the list. So I followed that plan, was heading towards the parking lot and went over to the back of the main stage where they were playing. Within about 30 seconds of walking up to that stage, I was absolutely floored and realized that I had missed out. Their sound, their energy, the love from the crowd, the set list, it all coalesced into a brilliant rock show that was easily among the top rock shows I'd seen even though I'd only caught an hour of it. Maybe they were just "on" that night, maybe it was the wonder of chemical alterations coursing through me, I'll never know for sure. But man, it was fucking awesome! Hindsight being 20/20, I obviously regret missing the earlier part of the show but at least I got some in and learned the error of my ways.

Not that I ever need an excuse to listen to Elvis, but my love for this one was rejuvenated when I heard it in that tequila commercial that's always on during the playoffs.

Awesome, you caught them not long before Johnson retired due to hearing problems. In the rock genre AC/DC is among the top on every level. They never have lost their energy due to age. When I was a young lad I grew up just when AC/DC started to appeal to a larger audience. Man, 70's and 80's rock is hard to beat. I like some new rock bands, Chevelle, Alice in Chains, and Queens of the Stone Age to name a few. Rock has always been my favorite category of music, and will remain so until I am an old man soiling my diaper in the care facility. Those nurses better give me a pull as long as my diaper is off.
