#26 for me. I've really only re-watched it every 5yrs or so, give or take. I saw it in theatres with my sister (2yrs my senior) who was to watch it for school; R rating was not enforced, we were both under 17.
I think it is Spielberg's masterpiece, with E.T. being his hallmark, & Jaws somewhere in between. (E.T. btw wouldn't make my top 100 if I had one)

A 9, not a movie I regularly watch again, but it is still a true classic.

Amazing movie, but it's difficult to watch more than a couple of times, in my opinion.

Just watched it, one of the easiest 10/10's I've ever given. What an incredible movie.

It's been almost two years since I've seen it and I think that at this point I can safely say this is Spielberg's best work imo. The only one I haven't seen in a while is Jaws, but besides that I think Schindler's List stands as his greatest achievement.

This, along with United 93, are very difficult for me to watch again. I have seen them just the one time.

I gave it a '2'. SS was so self-important here. And the movie was dreadfully boring, I just did not like it one bit.

When I reviewed THE PIANIST, I talked about why the scenes of Nazis killing Jews stopped working after a while: They became the same thing over and over. SCHINDLER'S LIST has the same problem but only during the first 70 or 80 minutes. Yes, those moments are still shown afterwards, but the movie stops relying on the shock value; the makers spread them out. I mean, watching 15 to 20 different deaths in less than 5 minutes has as much impact as Liberace coming out of the closet. This is proof that Jewish directors (like Roman Polanski and of course Steven Spielberg) shouldn't make Holocaust movies. The subject is too personal and it clouds their judgements. Where was I? Oh, right. The reason why the rest of the movie works is because it's not just a story of a German saving Jews from Nazis; it's about a human being saving innocent human beings from evil human beings. I'm sure that Spielberg intended it to be specifically about Jews and Nazis. Well, that's too bad. Not that the non-Jewish don't care about the Holocaust; of course we do. It's just that a story works better when it's message is as universal as possible. The names on title list were written without an specific order. If I were to make one about the people involved in this movie who deserve praise, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and D.P. Janusz Kaminski would be at the top. 7/10 ------------------------------------- You can read comments of other movies in my blog.
