Without warping?
I think I never did beat it. I tried recently to, but couldn't. Wasn't trying too hard though.
How many people here have played it and couldn't beat it? It goes without saying, this game hasn't aged one bit since it came out. Is it still as fun today as when it came out, yes.

I did countless runs through the old Super Mario Bros. games, sometimes warping to skip through quickly but sometimes playing through every level. In the original SMB you can play through additional times after beating it, with the difficulty ramped up. I think it only ramps up once, but back then I wasn't sure and ran through it several times in a row. It increased the difficulty by replacing Goombas with Buzzy Beetles.

Super Mario World is very difficult for me and I've played it quite a bit, and it is said to be one of the easiest 2D Mario games. I play on an emulator and not an actual console, it that matters. I read once that the classic Mario games are extremely sensitive to latency input and that the slightest discrepancy will make them very hard. But if that is not the case, I think you need to have had a Nintendo growing up to be able to master the retro 2D Mario titles. I find it hard to learn as an adult.
As for SMB3, I can finish the first world and then the desert levels are just to much for me, lol.

It wouldn't be rewarding or fun at all . Are you too young to be able to have had a nintendo? Just wondering.

Just wondering. If you by Nintendo mean the original NES, I'm a younger millennial, so the NES was a little before my time. But the SMB games lived on as they were released for the SNES as Super Mario All-Stars. Not to mention that they were re-relased another time for the Game Boy Color and Advance. Super Mario 64 was the first hyped Mario game for me. I had a SNES but had neither Super Mario World nor All-Stars. Mario Kart was the only Mario title I had. Yeah, the games were definitely harder in the past. That's largely because they were more expensive and so that you wouldn't feel ripped off beating them right away. Final Fantasy VI for the SNES was one of the most expensive and difficult of them all.

I have. I really don't like to use the warp on SMB1 or the Warp Whistles on SMB3.
