Jarmusch and Wenders, two filmmakers I used to confuse Two films that celebrate the zen beauty of a simple routine life Paterson – a thirty-something bus driver in New Jersey who writes poetry Perfect Days – a sixty-something cleaner in Tokyo who photographs trees Both great films, and would make a very pleasant double feature Overall I prefer the slightly quirky deadpan edge of Paterson

Perfect Days - 9/10
Paterson - 8/10
Paterson writes poetry, Perfect Days is poetry. Two great films.

I'd like to get onto Perfect Days pronto. I didn't know Wim Wenders was still active.

A cursory glance around net bears slim pickings for showtimes. That's a bit of a downer.

Good Morning, like Floating Weeds is another re-imagining of one of his earlier silent films (in this case I Was Born, But...). It's his lightest and most overtly comical film, mainly told from a child's POV. It has some nice playful visuals and again showcases his excellent use of color.

Both very nice movies.
But the last 3 minutes of Perfect Days (just seen yesterday) had an impact on me that Paterson did not achieve.
