Yea. Tons of great movies are set in the desert, and not just westerns.

A lean towards the NaY for me. Never been big fan of of 'bad weather' movies, wether it hurricanes, twisters, floods (unless there's some Sharks of course) ...the whole 'men against the environment thing' etc etc.
..and desert flix often seem to be in that area. ..and often it's solitary men....so we get the whole reminiscing, regretting, hallucinating, talking to one-self, cracked-lips and no water or sandwiches stuff. Not for me.
Now shove me up the Amazon or jungle with a motley cast of misfits and babes and hidden agendas and nasty, peckish creatures.....Now you're talking.
I did love Sons 0f The Desert with Stan and Ollie though....and it was the name of one of my most successful bowling teams.

Yay for sure.
Mad Max series. Breakdown. The Hills Have Eyes (2006). Hundreds of Westerns. A New Hope almost qualifies as well.
