She wasn't trying to hurt him with the lasso, she was trying to get him to tell the truth, and the truth in question was that in regards to whether or not Diana was the Godkiller, and whether or not Ares was the one who started the war. Sure but why should she expect a magic lasso to work on someone who (in her mind) can destroy a magic sword? Well, it didn't, and he used it as a medium to blast her. As you suggested, it was an irrational and desperate move, it failed, she looked like a schmuck and got blasted because of it. Can't you just admit it could have been written much better?

How else could it have been written? Diana by that point was desperate for the truth, and she had the perfect instrument in determining whether or not she would get the truth. The only other alternative I can think of would be if Diana just automatically believed Ares for telling her something that went against everything she thought she knew about herself and the world around her.

the whole deflategate is a load of crap No, it wasn't. Professor Marlow (a Physics professor and former Chairman of the Department of Physics at Princeton University) confirmed that the deflation in the Patriots footballs couldn't have been caused by weather alone and had to have been the result of weather AND human tampering. Are you saying that you now more about physics than a Physics professor and former Chairman of the Department of Physics at Princeton University? And Judge Denny Chin (an unbiased federal appellate court judge who has no affiliation with the NFL and who took an oath to examine evidence objectively and fairly) said on the record in open court that "the evidence of ball tampering is compelling". Judge Chin was the one who sentenced Bernie Madoff to a 150-year prison term so Judge Chin knows a fraud when he sees one, and Judge Chin clearly saw that Brady is a fraud. you're just like every Patriot haters, with your panties in a bunch because Brady is probably one of the best quarterback of our generation No, I hate cheaters and frauds. That's why I hate Lance Armstrong and Ben Johnson and Rosie Ruiz. Because they were all cheaters. And that's why I hate Brady. Because Brady is the biggest cheater and fraud in NFL history. That's why I hate Bernie Madoff. And that's why I don't like Bob Kane (a fraud who claimed for decades that he was the sole creator of Batman and refused to give his friend and colleague Bill Finger any credit for his collaboration on the creation of Batman). And that's why I don't like Captain America. Steve Rogers was a skinny kid who couldn't pass the physical to get into the Army because he was too lazy to exercise and train like everyone else did. So he took a shortcut and got injected with some super PEDs so that he could get bigger muscles and be stronger than everyone else. But that wasn't all. Despite being a non-commissioned officer, Steve Rogers was just handed a commissioned officer's rank of Captain even though he had no command experience at all and there were probably many other officers who had command experience and were more qualified than Rogers was. Just imagine if you had attended West Point for 4 years, graduated with Honors, served in the Army and worked your butt off for your entire career, had plenty of command experience, and was next in line to be promoted to Captain as soon as there was an opening. Then all of a sudden, they just hand your promotion to a kid who has no command experience and who only got into the Army because he got injected with some super PEDs that gave him bigger muscles and made him stronger than everyone else. Rogers basically stole the rank of Captain from more deserving officers who worked their butts off for their entire career to serve the country.

How else could it have been written? Really? You know hundreds...thousands of movies have the antagonist provide exposition to the protagonist without a lasso of truth (which didn't even work on him) right? You're just being obtuse now. I'm out.

I suppose Diana accepting what Ares told her without question could work under the right circumstances, but given that she had the lasso with her, I don't see any reason why anyone in her situation wouldn't have used it.

You've been thoroughly annihilated on deflategate hundreds of times. You never convinced anyone on the sports forums that you're right, you're not going to convince anyone on a CBM forum that you're right. This is why you post nonsense then stop responding to people when you have absolutely no comeback - like my posts on Ultron killing Strucker. You're a pathetic little contrarian bitch that sucks at debate. and Cap wasn't just a 'skinny kid too lazy to workout.' He was sickly, he had a bunch of health conditions. If you paid attention to the movie you might have noticed.

All those facts from people hired by Roger Goodell by the way. But spin it all you want, Brady is still playing, has a bigger fanbase than those who believe he cheated, and Goodell is a joke. Obviously your opinion about Captain America, but doesn't detract from Marvel or the MCU. By the way, Spider-Man back up to 93%

There is a lot more bad writing in this movie. Civil War was worse. Iron Man: "I know that Cap and Bucky are going to show up at the airport to hijack the quinjet to make their escape. Since I'm a strategic genius, I'm going to set up a fool-proof trap for them at the airport that they'll never be able to escape from. And my fool-proof trap is to call in a high school kid who can shoot spider webs from his wrists to come down from the roof. Yep, that's my fool-proof trap and they'll never be able to escape from my fool-proof trap because I'm a strategic genius." Zemo: "The Avengers killed my family. But even though I know all of their identities, I'm not going to o the logical thing and go after their families and loved ones. Instead, I'm going to come up with the most convoluted scheme in CBM history where I find the only copy of a videotape of Bucky murdering Tony's parents 25 years ago. But I'm not going to upload the video to the Internet for the whole world to see that Bucky is a murderer. Instead, I'm going to wait for Iron Man, Cap, and Bucky to all show up at a remote base in the middle of nowhere at the same time so they can watch the videotape together." And the OP has the audacity to complain about Wonder Woman using the Lasso of Truth on Ares (which isn't illogical at all) when Civil War had writing that was 1000 times worse.

All those facts from people hired by Roger Goodell You're saying that Roger Goodell hired Judge Denny Chin to be 1 of the appellate judges on the DeflateGate case? Actually, 2 of the 3 appellate judges sided with the NFL and confirmed Brady's guilt in the DeflateGate case. So I take it you're claiming that Goodell bribed 2 federal appellate court judges, which would be a federal crime. And Goodell didn't hire Professor Marlow either. Professor Marlow was hired by the independent investigator, whom Robert Kraft himself praised for his integrity and independence. It was only after the independent investigator came back with a finding of guilty against Brady that Kraft and the Patriots publicly dragged the independent investigator through the mud and smeared his name. So Kraft liked the independent investigator when he was hired but all of a sudden didn't like the independent investigator after he came back with a finding of guilty against Brady. Because the Commissioner is best friends with Kraft and thus gave Brady a light punishment, only a 4-game suspension in the regular season, which was nothing more than a slap on the wrist for cheating in an AFC Championship Game to advance to the Super Bowl. has a bigger fanbase than those who believe he cheated No, he doesn't. Outside of New England, Brady is the most hated athlete in the country. The whole country outside of New England knows that Brady is nothing but a cheater and a fraud. Spider-Man back up to 93% No worries. SMH will probably drop again, like it did before.

And the OP has the audacity to complain about Wonder Woman using the Lasso of Truth on Ares (which isn't illogical at all) when Civil War had writing that was 1000 times worse. and again you ignore points you don't like, pathetic little bitch. Tony's plan was to enlist the help of person with enhanced strength and agility who has invented wrist-worn web-shooters to launch synthetic web with very high tensile strength, to incapacitate (not kill) Cap and his friends. That he's in high school is irrelevant. The kid has unique skills. Cap and Bucky probably wouldn't have escaped if it weren't for Lang turning into Giant-Man which drew an enormous amount of attention onto himself. Parker did pretty damn well for himself in that fight. He relieved Cap of his shield. He incapacitated both Falcon and Bucky with web. He took down Lang like he was an AT-AT. But sure, he's not a strategic genius because the person he got to help him happened to be in high school. Zemo described the reasoning for his plan very concisely when he said "An empire toppled by its enemies can rise again. But one which crumbles from within? That's dead. Forever." Zemo was a soldier/intelligence officer so it wouldn't seem like that complicated of a plan for someone like him. For someone like you though, I can see it being ungraspable. But of course, you ignore what doesn't support your child-like "Marvel sucks. DC rules." mentality.

You really think he cares that some call him a cheater? It certainly hasn't stopped him from playing. So you can bitch and moan about it all you want, but it won't make a difference. And even if it goes down, it certainly won't fall below 85%, hell, probably not even 90%. Last I checked, a 90 and a 93 are essentially the same grade when you look at it and equally good.

But if you don't argue that Brady is innocent then you're actually conceding that he cheated and condoning it!!! and if WW ends up with (for example) a 93% and SM:H ends up with a 92% that means WW is objectively the better movie in every way and Marvel failed! that's how he thinks.

You really think he cares that some call him a cheater? He cares a lot. That's why he kept refusing to come clean and own up to his cheating and instead wasted taxpayers' money fighting it in court when everyone already knew that he was guilty of cheating. And the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the guilty verdict. It certainly hasn't stopped him from playing. So you can bitch and moan about it all you want, but it won't make a difference. It hasn't stopped the cheater from playing but it has tainted his legacy forever. Shady Brady will forever be branded with the stigma of being a cheater. 100 years after the Black Sox Scandal, everyone associates Shoeless Joe Jackson with the Black Sox Scandal. That's how it's going to be with Shady Brady in a couple of generations from now. Everyone will associate Shady Brady with cheating. Whenever a teacher says to a student that "Cheaters never win", the student will just say "Yeah they do. Look at Tom Brady. He won by cheating a lot." And even if it goes down, it certainly won't fall below 85%, hell, probably not even 90%. Last I checked, a 90 and a 93 are essentially the same grade when you look at it and equally good. You missed my point. I was pointing out that MCU fans here were saying SMH is much better than Wonder Woman and should get an Oscar because it was rated 93% while Wonder Woman was rated 92%. But when SMH's rating fell below Wonder Woman's rating, you say the ratings are practically equivalent. So when SMH is 1% higher than Wonder Woman, you MCU fans say SMH is much better, but when SMHs rating fell below Wonder Woman's rating, you MCU fans say the rating are practically equivalent. Sounds like typical hypocrisy frm MCU fans.

I only bring up that it's higher than Wonder Woman because I know it pisses you off and it's funny to see you flip out over it because you're so easy to screw around with like that. But knowing you, given that it's out now and still at 94%, I know you're going to spin some bullshit to say that the rating doesn't matter because you're nothing but a hypocrite who's just upset that Marvel had another success

He hasn't own up to it because he didn't do it You probably also believe that Richard Nixon wasn't a crook and Bill Clinton didn't have sexual relations with Monica Lewinsky and O.J. wasn't the killer. LOL!!! Brady did cheat and the Wells Report proved it. The evidence against Brady is overwhelming (or as Judge Denny Chin said "compelling"). That's why the 2nd highest court in the country affirmed the guilty verdict against Brady. Just because the court says he did it, doesn't mean it's the right verdict. In this case, it is. The verdict matches up with the overwhelming (or as Judge Denny Chin said "compelling") evidence against Brady. He's still playing but his legacy has been tainted forever. Like I said before, Shady Brady will forever be branded with the stigma of being a cheater. 100 years after the Black Sox Scandal, everyone associates Shoeless Joe Jackson with the Black Sox Scandal.
