Which is the bigger failure? Keep in mind that Homecoming destroyed the continuity of the entire MCU, causing millions everywhere to boycott it and call for a reboot. That homecoming poster is the biggest failure...

To be fair, Terminator 2 destroyed the continuity of the first film (where the whole point was that the future cannot be changed, as time travel works in a loop), but most people consider it to be the best film in the franchise (though I don't).

SM:H hasn't even been released in China yet. It could gross over $850m.

Don't you confuse arthritic with artistic. I was talking about artistic merits as in:
- TFA is a rehash by ripping of mostly ANH- and then some OT/old EU plot beats (story points), - thereby lazily nuking the achievements of the OT (defeat of Empire) and the OT character arcs, - the writing is on fanfic level with most characters being incongruent with their backstories (including MS writing) - the main storyline is broken and inconlusive, - there are no new ideas, designs or proper world building, - the execution is rushed (pacing), overacted and mediocre etc...
In short: TFA is an artistic shitstain on SW's best underwear. But can millions of arthritic flies be wrong in this regard...? Just IMO....

Really? You're still harping on THAT line above all else? And you clearly haven't seen 'Ghostbusters: Answer the Call' if you think 'The Force Awakens' is more artistically bankrupt than that.

Droid, please? Depends on who I talk to. With you "Got a boyfriend, cute boyfriend?" comes to mind. Like THAT better?
When comparing turds it is often difficult to firmly assess which one stinks worse: the Ghostbuster one admittedly reeks and is an abomination in form, consistency and substance, but it can be contained and ultimately forgotten. Stinky shit, but harmless.
Not so the TFA- , which manages to retroacticvely and proactively stink up an entire franchise.
And I am just talking degrees of stink here, what about writing theory? Eg that copied-yet-broken storyline? Starting out with the hunt for the map to find Luke (in an little droid), but then in the second half being suddenly interrupted by the unrelated storyline of DeathStar3 and its all-to-easy copycat-destruction? And then in the last minutes having the main map-plotline conveniently be resolved by an deus ex machina awakening (R2 meeting Marey Sue and having the map all along and nobody ever bothered to look in Lukes suspiciously abandoned droid...).
Fanfic amateurism thy name is The Farce Awakens!

Don't bother with Tristan. He has his head so far up his own ass he has it up George Luca$'s. Just block like I did and let him shout into an unforgiving void.

He's proud and haughty; acting with boundless arrogance and idle boasts. He delights himself in scoffing and hates knowledge, as witnessed by how many times he's been corrected and refused to listen (kind of like DC-Fan). The man is so sure of his own high brow preferences that he fails to see he's actually not a man of taste. He is a fool who fancies himself a philosopher. There is no understanding his willful ignorance and insolent fury. Pay him no further heed.

I eventually realized that it didn't matter what I said. Any arguments he successfully baited me into were already lost just by acknowledging him. I guess that just goes to show, "Don't feed the troll."
